Heather Carey - Maid of Honor
Heather and Brittany have been friends since they were 2 years old! Yes, over 30 years! It's humbling to be friends with someone for this long because they've seen you through all seasons of life. Some of Brittany's favorite memories with Heather include rewatching childhood home videos, drives to school and walks home from the bus stop, surprising Heather growing up when Brittany would visit CA, and then when Heather came to experience the Town Square at Christmas for the first time. Brittany is inspired by Heather's positivity and her ability to find the good in every situation. Heather is the queen of encouragement and intentional relationship building.
Joey Henderson - Best Man
Joey and Brad met 7 years ago when Brad started at Healthmark, and they have been inseparable ever since. They have been through the highs and lows of life together and have gotten into their fair share of trouble together too. They were together when each found their better half, and Brad can remember vividly when they talked about how Joey knew Taylor was the one. Brad then did the same with him when he met Brittany. Their plans to grow old together and annoy our significant others for the rest of time then took place (sorry Brittany and Taylor). Brad can proudly say he has a brother for life.
Laura Dickerson - Bridesmaid & Reader
Laura and Brittany met in 7th grade at Collierville Middle School and have been friends since! Some of Brittany's favorite memories with Laura include their creation of opera-rap, car ride adventures and carpool karaoke, spontaneous trips to get skillet chocolate chip cookies and ice cream, going to buy popcorn at the movies (and not watching a movie), watching She's the Man on repeat, and visiting Mackinac Island. They have been through so much together, and Brittany cannot imagine doing life without her. No one makes Brittany think or laugh like Laura does. Laura's steadfast faith is unlike anyone Brittany has ever known, and Brittany is a better person as a result. Brittany is honored and so grateful to have Laura pray over she and Brad as they begin their life as husband and wife.
John Lithpraseuth - Groomsman
John is Brad's Laotian brother who he has known for 20+ years. John is the friend that no matter where they are or how long it’s been since they last talked, Brad can always count on John on any second of any day. Brad was there for John's big day when he married his lovely wife, Amanda. Brad remembers their fun summers getting into anything they could, and the days of skipping class and going to the beach and their favorite hookah bar. Brad is excited to be an uncle to little Isaac and couldn’t imagine having anyone else by his side on his big day.
Samantha Wilbanks - Bridesmaid
Samantha and Brittany met in 7th grade. Sammi was a new student and was on crutches, and Brittany knew she had to be friends with her. They quickly bonded over their love of country music, specifically Kenny Chesney. Brittany's appreciation of football is because of Samantha and her family as Brittany watched many LSU bowl games and every Super Bowl at her house growing up. Brittany's love of golden retrievers is because of Buddy, Samantha's childhood dog. Samantha is one of the kindest souls you will ever meet, and no amount of time apart impacts their relationship. That's how you know it is true friendship.
Pete Juncaj - Groomsman
Brad met Pete 7 years ago at work and thought he was this quiet, shy guy who didn’t like anybody. However, once Brad got Pete talking sports and cracking jokes, a friendship quickly formed. Pete is a friend turned family from our long nights out at the bar, tailgating at games, and playing cornhole with the boys. Team Jack of Clubs, it was too bad they couldn’t take first but second place and boat ride was a nice consolation price. Pete is a Raiders and Lions fan so he knows the suffering Lions fans have had to endure for years. Brad couldn’t imagine his big day without Pete next to him.
Mary Clark Castro - Bridesmaid
Mary Clark and Brittany met at Mississippi State University through Tri Delta sorority. Some of Brittany's favorite memories with Mary Clark include going to the Mississippi State-Michigan Gator Bowl game, MANY late night fast food runs, being roommates, and MC attending Brittany's grad school graduation when she knew Brittany's family couldn't attend because Chris was graduating high school the same day. They have been through so much together over the past 15 years, and Brittany loves how it has strengthened their friendship. MC is so intentional with her time and investment in their friendship. After a long day of work, when MC has gotten her two boys home, MC will FaceTime so Brittany can say hello to the boys and be a part of them saying their prayers. It is one of my favorite things to witness.
Anthony Smith - Groomsman
Ant and Brad met working together some 15 years ago. They had everything in common and bonded over sports, good food, and family. Ant and Brad have something unique in common--they both lost a parent at a young age. Brad has looked up to Anthony for awhile now as his official big brother and can say, "Man, your mother would be so damn proud of you." Anthony is a role model as a father and Brad was there to watch all of Anthony's boys grow up, and couldn't be happier to see them become such great young men. Whether this life takes us far away to other states or brings us right back again, Anthony will always have a home with Brad, and he knows he does with Anthony too. Another brother for life.
Lauren Livingston - Bridesmaid
Lauren and Brittany met at Mississippi State University through fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Some of Brittany's favorite memories with Lauren include walks around the Drill Field in college, Lauren's visit to Pittsburgh when Brittany was living there and exploring a beautiful state park, and regular dinners at The Majestic in downtown Memphis. Brittany loves that she and Lauren can always immediately pickup where they left off. Their friendship is one of such mutual investment and while they are both in different seasons of life, it is humbling to see how they have prioritized time to catch up, even if only a text. Lauren's ability to offer sound advice and a listening ear is something Brittany is forever grateful for. Brittany has loved getting to watch Lauren settle into being a mother and wife and is SO proud of her.
Andrew Edie - Groomsman
Brad met Andrew through a mutual friend in high school. At first glance, you would think they were polar opposites, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Andrew came to live with Brad's family for a few years when his family moved away, and Andrew was adopted into Brad's family. Brad watched Andrew grow up, enlist in the army and eventually move out on his own. Brad is extremely proud of who Andrew has become and always thinks back to all of the times when they would get into mischief, grill all hours of the day/night, and spend most of their time in their garage man cave. Times may get hectic, but Brad always knows they are there for each other no matter what, and that Andrew will always be his brother and have a home with him.
Kristen Shryock - Bridesmaid
Kristen and Brittany met in college at Mississippi State University through Tri Delta sorority. Some of Brittany's favorite memories with Kristen include football games, late night food runs, trips to Little Rock and finding the best pomegranate margarita, living in the sorority house together and Kristen searching Little Rock to find the Halloween Golden Retriever blow mold for our front porch and shipped it to us. Kristen and Brittany both have wild schedules and may go months without talking, but when they reconnect, they talk for hours like no time has passed. Kristen is that friend that truly spreads joy wherever she goes. Brittany has loved getting to watch (from afar) Kristen become a wife and a mom.
Ken Babicz - Groomsman
Ken and Brad met at Healthmark, and not long after, Ken joined their friend circle, and they haven’t missed a beat. It feels like they have known each other for 30 years, but it’s only been six. Brad values all the memories of Lions tailgates (we won’t mention the best one) and all the family events they have attended together, including meeting his lovely wife, Courtney, and their two daughters. Ken is another example of a great father and one day, Brad hopes to be half of a great dad as Ken is. Although age separates them by about 15 years, Brad looks forward to all the memories they will continue to make, hopefully singing the Lions Fight Song together at a Superbowl, and growing old together with their knee problems. Ken, Courtney, and the girls are family to Brad and Brittany, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Sarah Galiotto - Bridesmaid
Sarah and Brittany met through their work at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Pittsburgh. Some of Brittany's favorite memories with Sarah include late night office olympics and many nights spent at Eat N Park, Mad Mex and Nicky's Thai! Other memories include a very slippery drive one cold winter night, spending too much money at Ross Park Mall, making Thanksgiving dinner and our trip to Orange Beach! Brittany and Sarah have both gone through their fair share of incredibly difficult loss, but being able to lean on one another has made all the difference in the world. Having someone you can rely on is so important when going through hard times, and Brittany is so grateful for Sarah. Sarah is one who asks questions and truly wants to know what you have to say. It's her special superpower.
Nick DiBenedetto - Groomsman
Nick and Brad knew of each other in high school, but were never that close. Fast forward 12 years and you’d think they have been friends the entire time. Nick is Brad's bowling teammate and friend for life. They bond over guns, redneck stuff, and pretty much anything they find funny--Brad knows the laughs and stupidity will never stop and looks forward to that the rest of their lives. Brad and Brittany are so glad to have Nick, Sarah, and Bob in their lives, and Brad looks forward to teaching Bob all the things he should or probably shouldn’t do as he grows up. Nick is family now and forever will be.
Mike Hull - Officiant
Mike and Brittany became friends through their work at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and he has been such a blessing to Brittany as she moved and acclimated to Michigan. He truly became her family. From Saturday breakfasts to game nights to mutual appreciation for Home Alone, shopping trips to all the home stores, Matt Rife, Reba, JoDee Messina, and Kelly Clarkson, Brittany couldn't be more grateful for him! Mike has a contagious spirit--his energy and passion for doing for others is so humbling to experience. Mike and his husband, Corey, are truly two of Brad and Brittany's favorite people, and they couldn't imagine anyone else marrying them.
Corey Wilson - Chief Chaos Coordinator & Reader
Corey is one of Brad and Brittany's dearest friends. Brittany met Corey through his husband, Mike, and their friendship was instantaneous! Brittany felt like she had known Corey her whole life, and Corey has truly become her chosen family. From sharing a love of wine, home decorating, board games, and good food, so many of Brittany's cherished Michigan memories have Corey at the helm. Corey and his husband, Mike, are truly two of Brad and Brittany's favorite people, and there are few people that Brittany trusts to keep the chaos and stress of wedding day facilitation at bay, and Corey is that person for her.
