Ben and Brittany’s paths first crossed in an unexpected way—through a dating app. Though they both attended Grand Rapids High School, their paths hadn’t intersected back then. But in July of 2021, fate brought them together when they matched online.
What followed was a whirlwind of unforgettable moments: cozy movie nights, home-cooked dinners by Ben, Brittany learning to play cribbage, adventurous four-wheeler rides, fishing trips, and countless sunsets shared together. It wasn’t long before Brittany, smiling but a little impatient, asked Ben when he was going to make their relationship “official.” Ben, with a grin, replied, “I thought you were my girlfriend already.”
In September of 2022, they made it official and became a couple. The connection was undeniable, and Brittany quickly found herself spending nearly every evening and weekend at Ben’s house. Ben would jokingly ask, “When are you just going to move in?” Well, in September 2024, Brittany took the leap and moved in, bringing along her cat, Gigi (who Ben adored, by the way).
On September 3rd, 2024—a beautiful Tuesday evening. The sky was painted in stunning hues as the sun set over the horizon, and Ben, who had always loved sunsets, was enjoying the moment with Brittany. After a delicious dinner, Brittany suggested they take a walk with their sweet dog, Bear. As they neared the end of their stroll, Ben guided Brittany to stand on a rock for a better view of the sunset. With his arms wrapped around her, they took in the breathtaking scene together.
Then, as Brittany turned around, Ben was down on one knee, holding a ring. With a smile, he asked the question that would change their lives forever: “Will you marry me?”
Brittany, stunned and in disbelief, wondered if Ben was joking—after all, he had always said he never wanted to get married. But the ring wasn’t fake, and Ben wasn’t kidding. Of course, Brittany said “YES!” It was the moment she had been waiting for, and it felt as magical as she had always imagined.
Now, Ben and Brittany are looking forward to building their life together, making more beautiful memories with friends and family, and embracing whatever the future holds for them. They can’t wait to celebrate their love with all of you this coming September!
