Like many modern love stories, ours began on a dating app—but from the very first message, it felt different. We spent countless hours texting, getting to know each other, and building a connection without even meeting face to face. Those early conversations laid the foundation for something truly special.

After months of talking, we finally met in person. Being the gentleman he is, he made the drive to Plainview, TX—just so I would feel comfortable. From the moment I saw him, I had a feeling this was the beginning of something meaningful. He opened the car door for me, treated me with genuine kindness and respect, and made sure I felt special every step of the way. That first date was simple, sweet, and unforgettable.

Our first trip together was to the Dallas–Fort Worth area for his cousin’s bridal shower. It was a big step—I got to meet many of his family members, and they welcomed me like I had been part of the family from day one. That weekend was full of laughter, love, and a moment I’ll never forget: we made our relationship official and took our first photo together as a couple. I was completely head over heels—I could finally call him my boyfriend.

For two years, we made a long-distance relationship work—with lots of late-night calls, weekend visits, and countdowns until the next time we’d be together. I practically lived out of a bag, always ready for the next trip to see him. It wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it.

In the summer of 2022, everything changed—I moved to the Lubbock area to be closer to him. It felt like coming home. I also started a new chapter in my career, landing my dream job as a teacher at Whiteside Elementary. It was the start of the life we had been waiting so patiently to build together.

As we finally settled into life in the same place, we made so many memories together—traveling to some of our favorite spots like Ruidoso, NM; Fredericksburg, TX; and even Las Vegas! Every trip brought us closer, filled with laughter, unforgettable moments, and just the right amount of adventure. But it wasn’t just the big trips that meant the most—it was the everyday moments in between. From spontaneous dinners and inside jokes to heartfelt conversations and quiet time just enjoying each other’s company, we built something real. We learned each other’s rhythms, supported each other through challenges, and found joy in simply being together. Our connection kept deepening, and I was falling deeply in love. More and more, I knew—without a doubt—that he was the one.

I could barely wait for this day—I kept wondering when he would ask me! After the school year ended, we took a trip to Fredericksburg, TX. I had no idea what was coming. He scheduled a wine tour for us at Becker Vineyards, and as we walked through the vineyard, he got down on one knee and proposed. To my total surprise, he even had a secret photographer there to capture the moment! I was so surprised, so happy, and completely in love. I got the ring and the man of my dreams.

Now we’re planning a celebration filled with love, laughter, and all the people who mean the most to us. We can’t wait to walk down the aisle and officially begin our forever.
