It was Saturday, January 31st 2016, the air was cold, the sun was out, and Cupid came a little early for the soon to be newly weds. The two were introduced by a mutual friend and teammate at a local jiu jitsu tournament. The mood was light, the energy was fun and conversation wasn't hard to maintain. The afternoon was spent supporting mutual teammates, laughter, and swapping bloody nose stories among the group of martial artists. Plans were made between Zane and Brittany to train together next day, followed by that awkward goodbye two people have when they realize they actually hit it off, but you don't want to admit it yet. Let's be real, there is no way someone could really be THAT in to you, you're a sweaty gym rat half the time that eats pizza in your underwear on Friday nights.

Sunday, the two met at a community gym to train together. How many people can say they sparred each other on the first date?! I don't know which one is crazier; Zane who just let a girl fire away shots, or Brittany for agreeing to spar with some guy she doesn't know! Five head kicks and fourteen arm bars later, the two decided to take their date to the next step by getting BBQ and a beer! Sunday's training and dinner was such a success, they met again three days later.

As you can gather, the two quickly became the best of friends. They enjoyed a lot of the same things, martial arts being the arrow sent from cupid, they also discovered their mutual passion of live music, social gatherings, comedy shows and eating pizza in your underwear! Their time together was full of conversation, random adventures, laughter and hugs; forming a unique bond that seems to be unbreakable.

Summer arrived, a cruise to the Bahama's came and went, and finishing each other's sentences at this point became a daily ritual. Zane was practical, sensible and self disciplined. Brittany on the other hand was a free spirit, compassionate, creative and full of dreams. It seemed as if their similarities and differences were the missing puzzle pieces. They both took so much pride in uplifting the other, and making one another feel loved, accepted, and appreciated.

As time progressed, and their love grew the couple decided to buy a house and shortly after Zane proposed!
