Our Wedding

March 22nd. Concord, California. Our main characters of this story, Heston, a good-looking, single nurse, working in Washington, home for a long weekend, and Brittany, an even better-looking nurse, working/living in California, came across each other while on a Christian dating app. Heston knew quickly that Brittany was different from any woman he had ever talked to before. She was beautiful, sincere, intentional about her faith, and so much fun to talk to. Brittany recognized that Heston was unlike any of the guys she had come across in the past. He was handsome, genuine, intentional about his faith, and easy to make conversation with. They both thought the other was too good to be true. About a week and a half into talking, a slight detour was thrown at our main characters as Brittany noticed how serious Heston was. She wanted to assure that she was where God wanted her to be prior to entering a relationship. Heston suggested they continue talking as friends and Brittany agreed. However, Heston had every intention of flirting, respectfully, because he knew Brittany was special and a woman set aside from the rest. They continued to talk and planned to hangout as friends April 18th, the Friday before Easter. That Friday marked a new chapter for our main characters as they quickly developed into more than just friends. They saw each other every day that weekend spending as much time together as possible, met each others parents for the very first time, and quickly realized this was the person they each had been waiting for. Our happy couple then had to endure the hardest test yet as Heston had to return to Washington for the next 3 weeks: the longest 3 weeks of their lives. Nevertheless, they made the most of the time apart. Brittany and Heston saw the conversations deepen, feelings grow, and the relationship mature in its seriousness and intentionality. Finally, May 15th arrived and Heston made his way back to California for an extended weekend. Brittany surprised Heston at the airport and welcomed him home. It was in the airport parking lot where Heston officially asked Brittany to be his girlfriend. She said yes, and the words I love you were exchanged for the very first time. Their next chapter began as they enjoyed the long weekend together and geared up for the very busy summer ahead of them. Unbeknownst to Brittany, about a week later Heston would begin the process of picking out the engagement ring he hoped Brittany would wear for the rest of their lives. June was a blur, but it would be that month Heston would ask Brittany’s father, David, and mother, Anne, for permission to ask Brittany to marry him. They gave Heston their blessing and the plan for the engagement could officially be set in motion; and it was with every intention of making it a complete surprise for Brittany. Our couple, now falling more and more in love, decided to take a day-trip to Monterey on July 3rd. It was on this unsuspecting beach day that Heston would get down on one knee and ask Brittany to marry him. Brittany was most certainly surprised and only caught on moments before Heston asked her that all-important question. She said, uh huh, which was confirmed shortly thereafter with an enthusiastic, yes! The couple agreed that this chapter of their story unfolding before them would be the best one yet. Which now brings us to the present day. Heston and Brittany continue to grow closer, going on adventures, learning about each other, and exploring what life looks like together. There was the time they took a trip to a foreign country (ask Brittany which one), made lemons out of lemonade when someone forgot which airport he was flying out of (ask Heston if SFO stands for Oakland), and road-tripped both up and down to Oregon for not one, but two weddings this summer. Nevertheless, their biggest adventure together will begin on January 9th, 2026, and Heston and Brittany cant wait to begin writing that chapter of their story.
