Our Wedding

We met in good ol' West by God Virginia, where we both worked as social workers for a foster care and adoption agency. After Jake moved on to a new job, Brittany inherited his scarlet and gray, OSU themed office. Love at first "email" started when Brittany needed the voicemail code for Jake's old office phone, and he quickly realized they both had Ohio area codes. Fast forward to Brittany sending a simultaneous&nbsp;friend request and text message- we were on the countdown to our&nbsp;first date. Cue Fat Patty's bar seats&nbsp;with Crown Royal on the rocks and a Jack and Coke. We talked for three hours straight, and&nbsp;dinner seemed to happen naturally. After leaving Fat Patty's, there was no handshake or hug -we took it straight to a "high-five." How romantic. That high-five stuck. It wasn't long before we spent every day finding new adventures in wild and wonderful West Virginia. Picnics with the pups in Ritter Park, running the park trails, Dave Matthews concerts, pumpkin festivals, visits back home to Ohio and epic OSU tailgating. Eventually, it was time to move closer to the family and friends that we&nbsp;hold dear so we packed our home in the West Virginia mountains, loaded up Woody, Sammie and Zorro, and headed to Columbus, OH. We still spend our days as social workers, doing what we can for our clients and communities, a passion that has been such an joy to share with one another. We love visiting the family cottage on Lake Erie, taking mini vacations with family and friends, camping&nbsp;and most of all... BREWDOG. We are so thankful for the family and friends who have relentlessly supported us throughout our journey. You have shared your love with us and we are incredibly grateful to share ours with you :)

Our ceremony will be held at Toccoa Falls. It's about a 3 minute walk from the parking lot to the Falls.&nbsp;The path to the Falls and down the aisle&nbsp;is gravel. Please consider this when you choose your footwear.&nbsp;A golf cart will be available for those who are unable&nbsp;to make the walk.&nbsp;The reception will be held on top of a mountain, at the&nbsp;Splendor Mountain venue.&nbsp;The cocktail hour will be held in the lodge, and the reception will be under the&nbsp;tent in the garden. Again, you will be walking primarily on grass and gravel for the reception, aside from the dance floor.

Em is one of my closest friends - even though she lives all the way down in Clearwater, Florida! We met freshmen year of&nbsp;college in Marietta Hall. Sorority sisters and basically real life sisters, Em always keeps it real and puts life into a beautiful perspective for me. She is a bright light in this world - probably from all that Florida sunshine.

Michelle and I have been attached at the hip since the second week of college, when I let her (a complete stranger at the time) cut my bangs. The rest is history. She is a sister like no other, and we bicker like it too ;) She has a wonderful way of bringing people together, a trait I love about her!

Real life sister! Ash and I have been practicing our wedding since I can remember. She is hilarious and keeps life fun and always has. She'll go down in history as the world's best party planner and always gives life 110%.&nbsp;&nbsp;She has four beautiful and kind children who love their&nbsp;aunt Brittany and Uncle J :)

Everybody wondering who at this wedding will say something that is going to make you cringe? My bet is on Trey. All jokes aside, I’ve known Trey for 15 years, about 5 of which I’ve enjoyed it. Always down for a round (of beers or golf) and a good time, honored to call him a friend and a groomsman.

Kenz and I grew up sharing bunk beds on the second floor of our house. We shared a love for our stuffed animals, and even had birthday parties for them. She was (and still is)&nbsp;the little sis who is always up for fun; like following a scavenger hunt&nbsp;to find our hidden lunch and numerous other games. She is a beautiful and strong woman,&nbsp;graduating college this year and headed to tackle the wild world of accounting. She's living out&nbsp;her own fairytale with her boyfriend and pup, Ozzie.

Mackenzie Myers

I met Robs in college, and the first time we hung out was on&nbsp;Halloween. She dressed as a baseball player and I was Daphne from Scooby Doo. That was the night I discovered chocolate cake shots - YES. It was the beginning of many adventures, including a 21st birthday at that random mexican place, a spring break cruise, Gatlinburg shenanigans and much more. Robs keeps you laughing and reminds you that life is more fun when it's not taken so seriously :)

Jacks is from Philly and loves her city like no one I've ever seen! We met in college and spent every waking hour&nbsp;hanging out - and non-waking hours after we pushed our beds together when we lived on the top floor of the Sigma Kappa house :) We would spend a week each Spring exploring her city and getting into debauchery that was essential to our memory making. She's always around when you need a listening ear and some compassion after a rough week. The mother of two beautiful babies - the brattwins, she and her husband are still rocking life in Philly.

Kingwood Country Club & Resort

The road up the mountain is steep and winding. Please consider this as you choose your ride to and from the venue, specifically after sunset.&nbsp;Anyone is welcome to meet at Kingwood to catch the pre-arranged&nbsp;shuttle to Splendor Mountain for cocktail hour and dinner. Uber/Lyft&nbsp;to the mountain will not be&nbsp; an option, as most Uber/Lyft drivers&nbsp;will not make that trip. Feel free to Uber/Lyft to Kingwood and then shuttle to the mountain.&nbsp; The shuttle&nbsp;will run throughout the night to take guests to and from the reception and Kingwood.

We will be going as a large group on Sunday for anyone who wants to join!Float down the Chattahoochee river in an inner tube - heck yes!&nbsp;We tried this when we visited the area and it was awesome!&nbsp;Only $10 and it's about a 2 hour trip. Our suggestion:&nbsp;Have&nbsp;two cars - one parked where you enter the river, and one parked where you exit the river. Waiting in the line for the bus to take us back up to our car was hot and long!

Tallulah Gorge is one of Georgia's 7 Natural Wonders! Overlooking Tallulah Falls, a beautiful series of six waterfalls. Soak it up!

Clarksville is a little town near Helen, GA. We stopped&nbsp;to get a sweet treat at one of the local bakeries and ate at The Copper Pot. It has plenty of shops, dining and other fun things to do. Downtown Clarkesville

Downtown Helen was one of our favorite days on our trip!&nbsp;It is a little ways from the reception site (about 30 miles)&nbsp;- but completely worth it! I would recommend staying somewhere in the middle, because you will want to visit this awesome little German town. Very walkable, and plenty of parking. Eat, drink and be married!
