As luck should have it, Brittany and Mitch first crossed paths at a St. Patrick's Day party in 2017, but as often happens with life’s winding roads, their real story didn't begin until a freezing January morning in 2020...

Brittany was living in the east end of St. John's and woke up to see that her Saturn Ion was completely snowed in. Not in the mood to face it, she procrastinated by scrolling through her phone when she saw a familiar face pop up... Mitch. A quick swipe right and some chatting turned into an offer from him to help shovel out her car. In the days that followed, they went on many drives, always stopping into Tim Horton's for some beverages along the way. Sipping their tea and coffee, they talked about everything on their minds and quickly warmed up to each other.

Then, the news hit: a storm was brewing, one so massive it was sure to bring the city to a standstill. Mitch had stopped by Brittany's house to surprise her by dropping off some storm supplies (so thoughtful!) but ended up extending an invitation to ride out the storm with him and his brother, Kris, at their place for the night. She accepted, unbeknownst to her she would end up staying at his apartment for much longer than a night. Snowmageddon became a national emergency and they suddenly had all the time in the world to get to know each other.

Then, unbelievably, COVID-19 hit a mere month later. This time it was a Global Emergency. They decided to move into a house together and share their bubble. The relationship seemed to move quickly, but after two major events "forcing" them to spend so much time together, they had felt like they had known each other for years rather than months.

Throughout their relationship, Mitch had somehow made Brittany a football fan (Go Bills and Titans!) and most importantly, Brittany's dog, Pavlov, fell in love with Mitch (which sealed the deal).

After almost 5 years and Brittany not-so-subtly reminding him that it was taking too long, Mitch surprised her by proposing in front of the heart arch at the Merry and Bright Light Show on December 18, 2024. And now, they are here and excited to celebrate with all of you!
