From Brittanys perspective:
In June of 2010, my sister, Ashley, was hanging out with a group of friends. Ashley introduced me to her tall, handsome, friend named... AJ. (: He had just graduated from Elkhorn High School, and I just ended my freshman year. I remember his confidence, smile, and the way he made me laugh had me hypnotized from the start. We had many fun memories and adventures together, but life took us on different paths at the end of that year.
Throughout the years we stayed in touch through Facebook, Ashley, and Friends. Even when our lives were separate, we would always reach out to each other once a year, just to say hello and catch up.
In August of 2018, I moved down to St. Pete, Florida. In October of that year a friend of ours, Brandon Peters, who lived in Georgia at the time, came down to visit me. AJ texted me asking, wheres my invite? and the texting continued from there. The texting led to calling and facetiming for hours (my sister, Jessica, can attest to this Haha). AJ said he wanted to visit me, and he planned to come down from Washinton D.C., on New Years Eve. I WAS SO NERVOUS! On January 2nd, 2019, AJ asked me to be his girlfriend. I remember at the end of that trip, we were driving to the airport, and we were both searching airline tickets that left later in the day, so we could spend more time together. On March 28th, 2019, AJ moved down to live with me. The rekindling of our love was instant and effortless. When you know, you know, am I right? (:
On June 3rd, 2020, we moved to the DMV area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) where we lived with his mom, Deborah, his stepdad, Joey, and his brother, Cullan. Living there was a dream. It is truly just a beautiful area, and I grew very close to AJs family. Im very fortunate for the people, places, and memories I made there.
On July 4th, 2021, AJ proposed to me. It was so magical!!! I couldnt ask for a better partner in life. I am so grateful for him,
On October 22nd, 2021, we moved back to Omaha. We are blessed to have lived with my mom, Amy, and stepdad, Rob, as we saved for a new house and as I'm trying to finish my bachelors degree. I am very happy to be close with my family and friends again in Nebraska. I couldn’t thank my Dad and Kim, Mom and Rob, and Deborah and Joey enough for giving us the best gift ever, which is helping with the cost to create a beautiful day I will never forget… marrying my soon to be husband, AJ.
I cant wait to do life with you Alan James Nechkash. You are my other half and thank you for everything you do for me. I LOVE YOU.
