Liam and I are a "traditional" millennial couple, since we met via Tinder in November of 2015. He had just graduated high school, I was a year out. We talked, he flirted with me by purchasing me my first month of World of Warcraft, and I flirted with him by saying that nobody thought I was cute.
We finally met one day, on my Grandpa Gary's birthday actually. Al, my baby brother, needed to go to the apple store, and guess what? No Apple Store in Santa Cruz. Being the *amazing* sister that I am, I drove him to Los Gatos. I totally didn't have ulterior motives....I quickly texted Liam, the random tinder boy I had been trying to meet for a month at this point, saying I was going to be in his neck of the woods. Neither of us would drive HWY 17 to visit one another. He agrees, and I later learn he even called out of work so he could meet me, and we met.
My first time seeing him I saw this awkward, lanky, tall dude wearing a bad t shirt and horrible jeans. I had no idea he'd steal my heart. After the Apple appointment, he asked if we wanted to get ice cream. I said no immediately for two reasons, 1) I had no money, 2) Al is lactose intolerant. Al said yes. Liam, being the sweet boy that he is, offered to get Al ice cream. Then Al got sick. We left the store, but not before getting this picture:
And yes, I am wearing a heart monitor.
We wouldn't begin dating that day, but instead the next day. In fact, I'd meet his entire family that day, as he took me home to meet his mom. A day after I met him in person. It was a little awkward, but we hit it off, and we've been together since.
Throughout the course of our relationship, the ups and downs, the arguments (we're both pretty hot headed), and the losses, we've held each other close. Liam held my hand as I got another ankle surgery. Rubbed my back as I sobbed for the loss of our first kitten together, and laughed with me the first night we lived in LA (after dropping my parents off at the airport).
I couldn't imagine doing this adventure without him!
