GETTING TO TULUM, MEXICO
Step 1: Fly to Cancun International Airport
Step 2: The airport in Cancun is an hour and half drive to Tulum. There are many ways to get from the airport to Tulum.

-Reserve a private car service: Have a service pick you up at the terminal and take you straight to the hotel. If you arrange a group pick-up and split the cost this seems to be the easiest option and best value. The company below has great reviews and is about $164 USD roundtrip for a group of 4-7 people.

-ADO Bus: There are bus tickets for purchase right outside of the airport. As you walk toward the exit, you'll start seeing signs for the bus. Ask an employee and they will direct you to the ticket counter. We've never booked the bus tickets ahead and it has never been a problem. As far as I know, the bus doesn't go straight to Tulum. You have to buy a ticket to Playa Del Carmen, then buy a ticket from Playa Del Carmen to Tulum. There are buses to Tulum very frequently. The bus drops you off in the town of Tulum. From here, hop in cab outside of the bus station and have them take you to the hotel (about $5). There are always plenty waiting. To get back to the airport from the hotel, take a cab to the bus station and buy a ticket to the airport. Make sure you check the schedules to the airport from Tulum before taking a taxi to your hotel!!
We've always taken the ADO bus and it's very efficient and clean. We'd recommend this option if you want to spend a little time checking out Playa Del Carmen in between bus rides. If you're arriving to the airport late, maybe look into other options as we're not sure how late the buses run.

-Rent a car: We've never rented a car in Mexico before and we're not sure there's much parking at the hotels. However, maybe this would be a good option if you plan on doing some exploring during your stay. You can reserve a car online in advance, but don't let the cheap prices fool you. That is the price before all added fees.
Step 3: Check into the hotel and grab a drink ASAP! :)
