Our Wedding

Our love story genuinely began as love at first sight, with a second date planned to take place only hours after the end of the first date. Our first date took place at Corona Del Mar, on the bluffs overlooking the ocean, where we instantly connected. We quickly learned that we were similar in almost every way, with the same favorite music, TV shows, love for animals, and interest in new adventures and experiences. We both instantly felt as comfortable as if we had known each other forever, and everything naturally fell into place. The next three years brought countless adventures, inside jokes, and endless love, which culminated in a proposal at the same place where our first date took place on our third anniversary. Early on, we both knew that we had found the one. In the course of our relationship, we have both changed significantly, and have given each other the support, encouragement, and love to continue becoming better people. We have experienced the best years of our lives and can't wait for many more decades of adventures, continuous growth, and new memories that will be made.

My parents are the biggest hockey fans in St. Louis. My Mom's secret skill is being called up on stage at concerts and my Dad dominates fantasy football leagues at an incredible rate. I would not be lucky enough to be marrying Brittney (or living in California) without the incredible, unwavering support from my parents at all times and will always be grateful to have them in my life.  Sabrina, Allie, and I are proud to call them our parents and are thankful for the decades of guidance and life lessons we've received so far.

My parents have spent so much time in Animal Crossing that they technically have dual citizenship. They are always laughing and joking around, and are the best option available for anyone in need of a pick-me-up. They have always encouraged me to pursue anything I want in life, and I credit my outgoing, bubbly nature (and my love of all animals) to my parents. We are deeply thankful for how much we can rely on my parents for anything and everything and their commitment to providing their consistent support.

Allie is the best read member of the family and her infectious enthusiasm and dedication makes her the English teacher everyone wishes they had in high school. Hanging out with Allie is always a highlight of every trip in St. Louis or California, and she is our favorite Disneyland companion. She is one of the easiest people to connect with and always leaves you feeling like you are best friends. Allie is one of the kindest, smartest, and most interesting people around and I am lucky to have her as a sister.

Scott is the funniest person in my life, and I credit my taste in music to the years spent knowing that Scott was almost home by hearing his truck's sound system blasting music from down the street. Being born 10 years apart  made it a challenge to relate to each other, but Scott has always made an effort to give advice and be there for me, even when he was at a completely different stage in life. To this day, I still look up to Scott and am always excited to spend time with him. I am so thankful to have him as my brother.

Sabrina is my twin sister, which makes her my default answer whenever confronted with telling a group of people a fun fact about myself.  While Sabrina and Allie certainly look more like twins,  I've been told repeatedly that Sabrina and I share a personality and complete set of mannerisms.  She is one of the funniest people I know, and I've always admired her confidence and the way she carries herself in life. I am extremely proud of the life that Sabrina has made for herself and couldn't have asked for a better twin.

After being rescued from a family that didn't want the intense energy and personality of a pug, Pugington blossomed into the psychotic, loving, and silly loaf that he is today. He never fails to put a smile on your face (except for when he is standing on your neck at 6 in the morning) and is always down to cuddle.

Airports nearby: 

We would recommend flying into/out of Long Beach Airport (most convenient) or John Wayne International, located 24 miles south of our wedding venue in Santa Ana. Both airports are small and offer very quick and easy navigation and convenience. If it is avoidable, we would not recommend flying in or out of LAX, as the traffic and wait times in the airport will be significantly worse.

If staying in Long Beach, we would recommend staying in Downtown Long Beach, Belmont Heights, or Naples. Lodging farther south in Orange County (Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Anaheim, Irvine, etc.) are also a good option for closer proximity to better beaches while still remaining close to Long Beach. If renting a car, make sure to verify that your lodging will offer parking, as this is not always a guarantee-particularly in Long Beach!

There are thousands of things to see and do in Southern California, and Long Beach is very centrally-located for activities in Los Angeles County and Orange County. We would highly recommend planning any outings to limit time spent on freeways during rush hour, as traffic in the area can be a nightmare. We love to give recommendations on things to do, so feel free to reach out if you want any ideas!
