First locking eyes from across the room in our middle school drafting class. Matt started to tear up not only because of Bronte's unending beauty, but also because she was beating his a$$ at the class assignment that day.

That was the beginning of our story 15 years ago.

For a few years nothing developed between them, not even a friendship, but Matt never forgot about her.

Counting down the last few minutes of New Year's Eve, 2016, their paths crossed again. Brought together by a mutual friend, they talked, set off fireworks, and toasted to the new year.
