Brook was introduced to Blake by Brook's best friend Kathryn (who is getting married to Blake's brother, Seth). She had a feeling that Brook and Blake would hit it off, so she set them up to begin texting one night. Since Blake lived in Baton Rouge at the time, they could not meet up yet. Instantly, Brook and Blake began to text each other. It was going very good until Blake decided to stop texting Brook and go on a date with someone else the night before they were supposed to meet. Brook was a little upset, but she was still hoping one day they could somehow meet!Since Brook had already planned to go to Baton Rouge one weekend, she still went to spend time with Kathryn (and secretly hoping to still meet Blake)!! Sure enough, that night as soon as Brook got to Kathryn's, they decided to text Blake and ask him what he was doing. Luckily, Blake did not have that much fun on his "date" the night before and decided he would come over and meet Brook. That night, Kathryn, Seth, Brook and Blake decided to go to dinner at P.F. Chang's and go out after. Blake so generously paid for Brook since he felt bad for cancelling plans with her ;), which was huge brownie points on his part.That night, Brook and Blake immediately hit it off and enjoyed spending time together. The next day, Brook left to go back to Lafayette and the two never stopped talking after that. After meeting up on their own a few days later, they both knew their was something there after talking for hours. A year and a half later, Blake proposed to Brook and now we are getting close to their big day! They are very anxious to celebrate with all of their closest family and friends!

How they met

On June 18th, 2015 (the day after Brook's birthday), Brook and her girlfriends were getting together to get their nails done then have lunch at La Madeline's to celebrate her birthday. The day was going great and got even better when Brook received a text from Blake's sister Ashley. She asked Brook if she wanted to go with her and the kids to the swamp at UL to see the alligators. This seemed completely normal to Brook since Ashley tries to do things with the kids like this during the summer.So, just as planned, Brook was going to go meet Ashley and the kids after lunch and go to UL and see the alligators. While at lunch, Brook also invited Kathryn since she wasn't doing anything after. Once they got to Ashley's, the crew headed out to UL and planned to walk through the quad to get to the swamp. Brook was excited to walk through the quad since there was a lot of new renovations that were done after Brook graduated. The one she was really excited to see was the new fleur de lis.As they were walking up into the quad, Brook was so focused on the fleur de lis. When she finally got about half way around it, she saw Blake standing there patiently waiting for her arrival. Brook was shocked at first, but slowly began to realize what was going on. After they were both able to wrap their minds around what was about to happen, Blake finally got down on one knee and proposed to Brook. It could not have went any smoother and the two were excited as can be after it was done.Brook was so happy to see that Blake had planned someone to be there taking pictures. And it was even better when she realized that it was her best friend Emily! After the proposal, they immediately showed off the ring to Emily, Kathryn, Ashley and the kids. Then, visited their parents and eventually called all close friends and family. That night, they celebrated by having dinner at Tsunami.

Cousin of BrideCasey is Brook's cousin that has been just like a sister to her throughout the years. Casey has supported Brook during all of her dancing adventures, competitions and dance revues. Being that they have been so close, Brook could not have asked for a better Maid of Honor. Recently, Casey has become a foster mom to a handsome little boy Hayden. He is definitely loved and has been welcomed into a loving family. When she is not busy with Hayden, Casey is the CFO of St. Martin Parish School Board.

Cousin of BrideGrowing up together, Brook and Allison have lots of great childhood memories. Some of their favorite things to do was play Monopoly, build Lego houses, and play house. Being that they were so fortunate to be so close growing up, Allison and Brook have a bond that can never be broken. Allison currently works as an RN at Oschner Medical Center in New Orleans. Brook hopes to one day have her back in Lafayette!

Brother of GroomTJ is Blake's second oldest brother. Blake's fondest memory of T.J. growing up was getting to watch him play sports. This influenced Blake to follow in his foot steps and play the same sports. If you are looking to have a good time, T.J. is your go to guy, as long as you can hang. When T.J. is not hanging out with friends you can find him as a Mechanical Engineer for OxyChem in Corpus Christi. Blake hopes to one day have T.J. back in Louisiana!

TJ McMinn

Cousin of BrideBrook has always enjoyed having her younger cousin Blair to play with when going to Granny's. Now that the two are getting older, their relationship has turned into more of a friendship. Brook and Blair share a passion in dancing, so they are very supportive of each other by attending dance revues and some competitions. Blair is going to be a junior at St. Charles Catholic School in LaPlace. She also takes dancing at Performing Arts Dance Center. She plans on attending University of Louisiana at Lafayette after high school. 

Blair Andrepont

Best Friend of BrideEmily and Brook met years ago while going to KinderCare. They were very good friends, but then grew apart once they went to different elementary and middle schools. Fortunately, when Brook joined Comeaux High Dance Team her freshman year, Emily was already part of the team they became friends again! Emily is married to Riggins Dore and have a beautiful little girl Amelie Gayle together. Last summer, Emily decided to make a career change into teaching and teaches 2nd Grade at Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy in Youngsville. She is so happy she made that decision and really enjoyed her first year of teaching!

Best Friend of BrideBrook and Kathryn met in Mrs. Bernard's 5th grade class at Ernest Gallet. Brook was chosen by their teacher to show Kathryn where to catch the bus to get to Butterflies Day Care in the afternoon. Ever since that day, Kathryn and Brook have been best friends. They both attended the same high school, but went their separate ways during college. During that time, they still managed to keep their friendship going. Thanks to Kathryn, she was the one that introduced Blake to Brook! She is marrying Seth, Blake's brother! Kathryn is currently a 1st grade teacher at Green T. Lindon in Youngsville.

Sister of GroomAshley is Blake's sister, but also seems like a sister to Brook. She has been a great advice giver and friend to Brook. Ashley is married to Nick Guidroz and they have 4 children with one on the way! Their children are Ethan, Ben, Kate, William, and soon to come, Andrew! Brook was honored to be the named Godmother to their son William last March. She has enjoyed getting to watch him grow up the last year and a half and can't wait to see him walk down the isle as the ring bearer! When Ashley is not tending to her children, she is working as an accounting teacher at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Best friend of BrideColleen and Brook met during Block 1 of their Elementary Education classes. During college, Brook told herself she would probably never make any new friends. Little did she know she would one day meet Colleen. The two were paired together for an assignment in which they had to work together and eventually turned into hanging out more often. They both realized how much they had in common and made it very easy for them to keep their friendship going. For their first two years of teaching, Brook and Colleen worked at Breaux Bridge Primary together, but this year Colleen will begin a new adventure teaching at Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy as a 1st grade teacher!

Best Friend of BrideBrook and Haley have known each other since elementary school, but really became close when Brook moved to Milton her 8th grade year. Last year, Haley decided to make a move to Kansas City, Missouri and work for Cerner. She made this move so that she could travel, but stay working in the medical field. After spending a year in Kansas City, Haley decided being home was where she needed to be. Luckily, she still has the best of both worlds and is able to travel and work from home with Cerner. Brook is very happy to have her back!

Godchild to the BrideWilliam is the son of Ashley and Nick Guidroz and also the Godchild to Brook. William is currently learning how to walk and loves his Momma. He loves to watch all of his siblings play and cannot wait until he can join in the action!

Godchild to the GroomGwen is the daughter of Michael and Margie McMinn and the Godchild of Blake. If Gwen could be anywhere, she would choose to be outside all the time! She currently enjoys playing with all of her toys and anything to do with Frozen!

Gwenneth Rose McMinn

Brother of BrideBrandon is Brook's younger brother. Brandon found out about Blake in a letter that Brook wrote to Brandon while he was in Parris Island, South Carolina during boot camp. Three months later, Blake and Brandon finally met. They enjoy watching football together and talking about sports. Brandon is currently in school at SLCC and continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves.

Best friend of GroomBlake has known Riggins since he was 10 years old through Boy Scouts. They rekindled their friendship when Brook and Blake met due to the fact that Riggins is married to Brook's best friend Emily. They now currently work together at Home Furniture in New Iberia. The two enjoy cutting up and having a drink after a long days work.

Brother-in-law of GroomNick is married to Ashley, Blake's sister. Growing up Nick was out to get Blake, or so that's what he thought, but as Blake grew up, the two became very close. Nick introduced Blake to UL, which turned out to be not so bad, considering his future in-law's are die hard Ragin' Cajuns. The two remain very close as they enjoy having competitive game nights and watch sports. Nick is the co-owner of DG Hauling and the father to 4, soon to be 5 beautiful children. 

Nick Gudroz

Best Friend of GroomEugene is Blake's best friend since 7th grade. They became best friends in Mr. Laberteaux's class at Westminister Christian Academy. The two were pretty much inseparable, even in college, they were roommates. Blake and Eugene love to listen to music, watch sports and just cut up together. Eugene currently goes to school in Baton Rouge. When he's not there, you can find him in the basketball gym at Red's schooling 5 year olds on the basketball court. 

Eugene Mwakitawa

Best friend of GroomBlake has known Chris since Kindergarten. What really brought them together was soccer and getting to travel around the state for tournaments. They also enjoyed growing up watching LSU football together and playing games on the XBox. Even though they live in different cities, they continue to keep a close friendship. During college, Chris played football for LSU for 3 years while also majoring in Kinesiology. He graduated from LSU this past May and will be attending Med School in the Fall at LSU Shreveport.

Brother of GroomSeth is the youngest of Blake's three older brothers. Blake and Seth were forced to grow up together being that they were the youngest. The two shared a lot of time together as they had to live in the same room for 13 years. Growing up, they enjoyed playing Lego's and soccer all the time. Now they love to eat Broaddus Burger and watch LSU football and baseball together. When Seth isn't dreaming about fishing, he is working for CB&amp;I in the accounting department. 

Seth McMinn

Brother of GroomMichael is Blake's oldest brother. Growing up, Blake remembers Michael having an odd pleasure of throwing him into the pool on Saturday mornings when he was being too loud. When Michael wasn't fussing at Blake, Blake enjoyed riding around with Michael. When Blake's Dad moved to Houston, Michael really helped out, which created a closer bond between the two. Now the two enjoy fishing together and watching LSU Football. Michael works for Sparrows Group in Abbeville.
