The bride and groom plan to fly out of the MSY airport on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 into the MXP airport on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025. They will stay in the city of Como on Sunday night at a hotel near the lake. On Monday, they will head to the wedding hotel in Laglio. They will be in Laglio from Monday, June 23rd, 2025 to Friday, June 27th, 2025. The bride and groom's immediate family will have a similar itinerary. Please know you are all welcomed to join us, if your schedule allows.

If you are flying from New Orleans (MSY), the recommended airport to fly into is Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). There is also another international airport in Milan, Italy called Linate Airport (LIN).

We would like all of our guests to stay in Laglio, Italy for the day and night of the wedding. This is where transportation and all wedding activities will take place. As soon as you decide if you will delight us with your presence, you should book your stay. June, July and August is their busy season so in order to guarantee your stay near the wedding festivities, you should book at minimum 10 months out. As of June 2024, many hotels and villas in Laglio are beginning to fully book up. We suggest you book your lodging immediately.

A transfer boat will pick up all wedding guests at the public boat pier in front of La Locanda del Cantiere restaurant/hotel at 2:00 PM. Leaving at 2:00 PM will allow enough time for the boat to transfer guests across the lake and disembark the boat. After the ceremony, the same boat will transfer guests back to Laglio for the sit-down dinner at La Locanda del Cantiere. After the sit-down dinner, we will board the reception boat at the same public pier across from La Locanda del Cantiere.

There are a few different options. 1. Rental car- pickup at airport and drive about 1 hour to Laglio. Depending on the size of the car, rental cars can cost anywhere from $100-$150 per day. 2. Private driver: email Stefano at "lakecomo.carhire@gmail.com" to schedule a ride. (His prices are $140-$170 from MXP airport to Laglio) Taxi - call/WhatsApp +39 0321 691999 to schedule a taxi. This is about an hour ride and this option can cost anywhere from $180-$220. 3. Train then rental car. Option one: Take a train from MXP airport to Milan Centrale train station. From Milan Centrale train station, you can take a train to Como San Giovanni train station. There is a Hertz rental car service that is a 1 minute walk from the Como San Giovanni train station. After you rent a car, you can drive about 20 minutes to Laglio. Option two: You can take the train from MXP airport train station to Varenna- Esino Perledo train station. There is a rental car place called “Carrozzeria Flli Sala” which is a few steps away from the Varenna-Esino Perledo train station. You can rent a car for about $85-$100 per 24 hours. From the car rental place, you can take the ferry (which is about a 1 minute drive from the rental car place) to Menaggio. Menaggio is a town across the lake from Varenna. You can take your rental car ON THE FERRY. This ferry ride takes about 10-15 mins. When you land in Menaggio, you take the road to Laglio ( which is about a 30 min drive). Laglio is the town that we recommend our guests to stay in. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND CALLING IN ADVANCE TO RESERVE A RENTAL CAR. 4. Train then Bus- Malpensa Aerporto Terminal 1 to Torriggia Via Regina (this is the CHEAPEST but LONGEST route- takes about 2hrs and 30min) First, take the train ( Trenord train) starting at "Malpensa Aerporto T.1" Take the "XP1 train line" and you will stop in "Saronno". Go from "Saronno" to "Como Lago" traveling on train line "R17". Get off the train at "Como Lago" and walk about 2 min to the "Como Stazione Autolinee" bus stop. When we visited Lake Como in November, we took advantage of the train system and we were pleased. As mentioned before, ROME2RIO app lets you know the exact times and location of the train system. You can even buy your train tickets through the app.

The wedding festivities will start for the wedding party on Wednesday - June 25, 2025. The wedding ceremony in the church, the sit down dinner for all guests, and the boat reception will be on Thursday June 26, 2025. The wedding party will arrive a few days before the wedding.

To get the best possible price for your flight, book your flight 10 months - 5 months out. That means you should book anywhere from August 2024 - January 2025. Prices will increase starting in January 2025.

In order to travel to Europe for our wedding, your passport must NOT expire in/after December 2024. If your passport expires in December 2024 and beyond, you must renew your passport before traveling to Italy for our wedding. Passports can take up to 16 weeks for processing before you receive it. If you have never had a passport, the cost for the passport book is $130 plus $35 processing fee. You ONLY need the passport book to travel to Italy, not the passport card. In the month of June on Lake Como, the days are mostly warm and sunny. The average temperature is a high of 75°F and a low of 63°F.

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Think cocktail dresses or a suit and tie or a sports coat. The ceremony will be in a Catholic church so ladies please remember to dress accordingly.

Lake Como, Italy is 7 hours ahead of New Orleans, Louisiana. For example: If it is 12:00am in New Orleans, it is 7:00am in Lake Como. Please allow yourself time to acclimate to the time difference. We suggest arriving to Europe at least two days before the wedding, if your schedule allows.

Before traveling to an international destination, we recommend downloading the app "WhatsApp" to communicate with people at home. You are able to call and text on "WhatsApp" for free. Google Translate is another great app to have accessible on your phone. Another tip: Make sure your credit cards have a chip, as most businesses and machines abroad only accept cards with chips. Another tip: Bring a power plug converter for small items such as phone chargers and computers. These can be purchased on Amazon for about $15. Another tip, download the Rome2Rio app. This app helps with navigating your way around cities. It recommends the best mode of transportation to get you to your next location. You can even buy tickets through the app such as ferry tickets or train tickets.

First, I would let your bank or Credit Union know that you will be traveling to Europe. You do not want to run into any issues when you are trying to purchase something in Europe. You can exchange US dollars for Euros at your local bank for a better currency exchange rate. You want to make sure you do this at least 1 month out from your trip in order to guarantee the bank has what you need. Another option is exchanging currencies at the airport. There will be a fee for doing this because of the convenience factor. They will have a HIGHER exchange rate at the airport; therefore, you will pay more with this option.
