It was April 8th, 2021 at 12:38am at Jake’s, a bar in Columbia. Brooke is out with Kayleigh and Kathryn and a few of their coworkers. Mike is out with his dad, Paul. This was around the time

of COVID (if you look very closely you can see Brooke has a bottle of hand sanitizer on the table at the bar). Paul couldnt believe how many people were out, due to the COVID restrictions. He pulls out his phone to take a picture to show Kathy, Mikes mother. When he takes the picture, Brooke notices someone wanting to take a photo and decides to smile for the camera. This was the big icebreaker and turning point.

Mike then decides to approach Brooke and he says “I’m so sorry my dad took a picture of you”. Brooke laughed it off and said “I know, I wanted to smile for his picture”.

After talking back and forth for a few minutes. Mike decides to take a shot and asked “Can I put my number in your phone?” Brooke hands her phone over. They call it a night.

Mike took Brooke out to Hendrix for their first date. They spent the night laughing and of course ended up at Village Idiot sharing a pizza.
