Nestled in a mature, interior coastal forest with a campground, picnic areas, short trails and viewing platform with 360 degree panoramic views in the heart of the mountain basin. Enjoy the stunning views of Twin Falls from the viewing platform as they cascade down from Lake Kathlyn Glacier on Hudson Bay Mountain or, if you're feeling adventurous, go right up to the waterfall!Mountain goats and bears can sometimes be seen on the cliffs and near the trails.

If you're looking for a local church to attend on Sunday morning, Brooke's home church holds its service at 10 AM.

Rent a kayak or paddleboard and enjoy Lake Kathlyn. Only a few minutes from Brooke's house, this lake located beneath Hudson Bay Mountain is a cherished spot of her childhood.

Lake Kathlyn Beach Park

This full day hike is one of Liam and Brooke's favourite memories of Smithers.Drive until the end of the forestry road where you will find a parking lot close to the start of the trail. The trail is beautifully maintained and initially follows an old road. While the first 7 km aren't too special, its all worth it once you reach the basin. Once a silver mine, the basin is a beautiful place to visit, with mountains on either side, waterfalls, and fresh water from a glacier lake. There is a cabin that is open for the public to use and sleep in for a fee of $10 per person per night. If you reach the cabin and find that you would like to go further, you can continue along the trail further into the mountains and visit a glacier lake.

Quite possibly Telkwa’s greatest achievement, the ice cream stand is a must. Bonus: it’s right by the Bulkley River — perfect for a stroll (or to justify that second scoop).
