Our Wedding

BE started a new job position as a Student Success Advisor at South College at September of 2022, she was fairly new with learning the ins &amp; outs of online academics. On that day, she learned training about financial aid and was shadowing with a financial aid officer who has worked at South College. She was shadowing a financial aid officer named Brian while another new advisor that was training with BE was shadowing Jon. Brian very eagerly introduced us to the financial aid officers for the online department and BE saw Kurt across from his cubicle. We briefly said a quick hi before BE started shadow training with Brian, little did they know that this was the beginning of something beautiful.&nbsp;

First Picture Together, First Date

A few months later, a former academic advisor invited her close friends and colleagues to her end of the year, Ariana Grande and pajama theme “Thank you Next” party. The former colleague shared the music playlist with BE and a close friend to be the DJ of her party. During the party, everyone was having a good time and BE was in control of the music, when all of a sudden the music changed to a completely different music that BE did not expect and was frustrated! When BE angrily shouted who changed the music, Kurt grinned and owned up to the music change. BE at that time flipped him off, as Kurt just laughed, teasing her.

Kennywood Trip

In January of 2023, while Brooke was receiving financial questions from Brian, Kurt would come over to Brian’s cube to talk about work and financial aid, but with another motive of talking to BE. BE and Kurt would have conversations about the end of the year party and the music played. Kurt asked BE if she listened to a song called “I Was Sad Last Night I’m OK” by tobi lou that wasn’t on the playlist and wanted to send it to her via text. BE hasn’t listened and was curious of what song sounded like.

Kurt asked of her phone number and she confirmed it, as they were in a group chat with the party host from before. That night and the days to come, they spoke about music and rating them out of 10, Kurt being involved in soccer, and BE adjusting to the new job position, among many other topics.

But then in time it opened a conversation about faith and Christianity, which created space for a deeper conversation about faith. Although Kurt was not as active in his faith at that time, he grew up in Church when he was younger. Little did he know, God’s divine plan to use BE to open up and unlock Kurt’s faith and have a heart for Jesus.

As they continued to work as colleagues at the same job at South College, and conversations continued to flow, Kurt started to have strong feelings for BE.&nbsp;

First (and the Best) Costume as a Couple

In March of 2023, Kurt would ask BE a random question (as he loves to do) that day but this time it was unique and asked to pick a number, specifically between 22 or 23. Because 22 was her favorite number, she chose that number. Little did she know,&nbsp;she was choosing the day he would ask her to be his girlfriend. On the exact date of the 22nd, Kurt pulled BE in the hallway to ask an important question (at exactly 4:45pm while BE was stressing out from work), to be his girlfriend. BE definitely said yes, despite the busy work day.

Funk N' Soul Night

As the dating era was fun for Kurt and BE with exploring new restaurants, fun activities, and hanging out with friends - Kurt and BE started to put sticky notes in each other’s office space to remind them of how much they love each other! But also draw random pictures to bring joy to their busy day. Kurt would also surprise BE with flowers to show his appreciation for her hard-work and love!&nbsp;

Thursday Night Bible Study

But, there were challenges that came along too, with time management, managing anxiety, communicating effectively with one another, and a big challenge of an unbalance and difference in actively pursuing God.

BE's Birthday Celebration

In January of 2024, on a late night after work, was a night that BE &amp; Kurt had one of the biggest arguments within their relationship, as it was full of emotions and frustration. But it was the night that would change the course of their relationship forever, as well as them as individuals.

First Penguins Game

At the end of the argument that night, BE asked a question that struck Kurt to his core, “if we weren’t still in a relationship, would you still pursue Jesus?”. Shortly after, he answered BE and said “Yes.” BE then said she still needed some time to think about the relationship and went home for the night.&nbsp;

One Year Together

When BE left, Kurt sat in his car in shambles, in fear of losing such an incredible woman, his life would be forever changed moments later. Kurt deeply assessing his life and everything that has led up to this point, crying in fear, for the first time in his life said the words “I can’t do it anymore, I surrender to you Jesus. Please help me.” And even though there was still pain, peace came over him in moments.

First Resurrection Sunday

A few days later they would be reconciled and relationship still intact, their bond would grow like never before. Kurt would continue his pursuit of a stronger relationship with Jesus and in turn impacted the relationship as a whole. BE and Kurt would begin to do Bible studies together, starting with John, then Acts, and now currently in Daniel. They would attend church more regularly together at Jubilee Ministries International, to be fair BE always attended regularly, and they would also get guidance from others along the way.

Moraine State Park Picnic Date

BE had a deeper connection within herself asking if Kurt was the man that she was supposed to marry. Her prayers were answered when Kurt made the announcement that he was going to get baptized.&nbsp;

Museum of Illusions Date

On January of 2025, Kurt publicly showed his following of Jesus and with his brother-in-law, Josh, to be able to baptize him. This created a 180 degree turn of Kurt spiritually, but building better character of being a faithful man. This caused BE to have better understanding with peace, communication, and open-mindedness when it came to a committed relationship.

Kurt &amp; BE prioritize more and more with accountability with each other through faithfulness and lifting each other up through the good and the bad. Family on both sides noticed a change with Kurt spiritually and the overall positive influence to the relationship.

Winter N.O.W Project

With BE no longer having a physical father, BE always dreamt of her future husband to ask her mother, her brother, and spiritual father to ask in hand in marriage before proposing.

New Year's Eve Celebration Night

Little that BE knew, that on a Tuesday night while BE and her brother, Cameron, was at flag practice, Kurt came to her house to speak to her mom, growing in deep in faith as man of God and asked for BE’s hand in marriage. To which, her mother said yes and always endorsed the relationship.

Valentine's Day Date Night

About a month later, Kurt had a phone call conversation on a Monday night, with Bishop Mark Kauffman asking for my hand in marriage. In which, he indicated that he knew the answer. Essentially, endorsed our relationship with a blessing to each other.

Two Years Together

Additionally, in June of 2025, Kurt asked Cameron for my hand in marriage during BE’s graduation trip to Knoxville, TN. To which, he said yes and how he shared appreciation of treating BE, spiritual growth, being part of the family, &amp; giving his blessing.

On June of 2025, Kurt and BE traveled to Folly Beach, SC where they enjoyed the summer sun, the fun activities, and the moment that was unforgettable for the both of them, the day where Kurt asked BE to marry him in front of the pineapple water fountain at Waterfront Park.&nbsp;
