Q + A

Where is the wedding taking place?

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be held on-site at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa. The ceremony will be held outside on the croquet lawn (weather permitting), and the reception will be held indoors.

What time should I arrive?

Our ceremony will start promptly at 4:00pm. We ask all guests to be at the venue and seated by 3:45pm.

When Do I RSVP By?

Please RSVP by July 1st, 2023 by using the QR code in your invitation or by clicking the RSVP tab in the menu above.

Is there a dress code?

We’d love to see our family and friends dress up with us! The dress code is cocktail (semi-formal) for our wedding. No jeans or shorts please!

Where can I stay?

We have two blocks of hotel rooms that are booked in West Des Moines. 25 rooms at the Homewood Suites and 25 rooms and the Hampton Inn. We will have a 10 person shuttle van running from both hotels to the venue. There are also plenty of hotel options around the Jordan Creek area if you choose to stay there as well.

How can I get to the venue?

If you choose not to stay at one of the hotels, you can drive and park outside of the clubhouse. Glen Oaks has asked that we use their south entrance off of Grand Ave. on wedding day. Please reference the detailed map of these directions included in your invitation. Please make sure you have a designated driver if you plan on drinking. You can also schedule an Uber or Lyft to the venue as well.

Can I bring a Guest/Date

Due to limited venue space we are unable to accommodate additional guests. If you received a plus one your guest’s name is listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with close friends and family.

Are Children Invited?

Due to limited venue space we have decided on only immediate family and wedding party children. Invitations will be specific and will include the names of the children invited. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

Can I take photos?

We are having an “unplugged ceremony” (no phones or camera at all please). We have hired wonderful professionals to capture this moment and we will share these photos as soon as we get them. After the ceremony, please feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like!
