Update March 8, 2021: The wedding is currently moving forward for June 5th. Idaho recently moved into stage 3 of reopening and we are not concerned about limiting the amount of people at this time. Some considerations are that there still may be mask mandates and social distancing requirements in Boise. We will keep you as updated as possible on any changes.

It all started in 2010, in the small town of Idaho Falls.

Brooke and Jason met while working together at Best Buy and became working friends, since Brooke was a sales manager and Jason the Geek Squad supervisor.

Yet, we parted ways in 2012, and it wasn’t until a year later did Jason text Brooke one March evening to see if she wanted to “hang out” and have a beer. She quickly texted back, “Yes!”

Over the next six months Jason and Brooke spent a lot of time getting to know each other, going out to dinner, to minor league baseball games, meeting Jason’s family and other activities with friends. But then Brooke had to travel to Montana for work for a week, so she had asked Jason to stay with her son Gavin while she was gone.

Well, when Brooke came back Jason decided that he liked it better as the three of them rather than returning to where he was living and it’s been that way ever since.

Fast forward to 2015 and a job transfer for Brooke, which brought everyone to Boise. The move happened right before a planned vacation to Hilton Head Island for a reunion on Brooke’s side of the family. This would be the first time Jason would meet her parents and siblings. But thank goodness everyone got along well and approved of Jason! So Brooke started hinting, not very delicately, that maybe they could make it official and get married.

At that point we had been together for two years, and put together a plan. We would buy a house first and then get married.

Over the next year we got comfortable in our careers and making Boise our home. But then, in late 2016, Brooke had major surgery that resulted in complications. It was a difficult time, and we persevered through another surgery just two months later. This ultimately brought us so much closer and with it a deeper understanding of each other and that we would be there for each other through everything. So after Brooke was finished recuperating, she decided it was time to put the marriage plan back into place.

And then Brooke’s brother decided to propose to his now wife in Hilton Head in 2017 and planned to get married in 2018. This pushed off our plans of getting married in 2018, so we decided to move forward with buying a house in March 2018. We were so happy to finally have a home of our own after renting for so many years.

But you know what was coming next...

Brooke not so subtly hinting about getting married.

So on February 14th, 2019, after Jason saying no to the five or six times of Brooke asking him to spend the rest of his life with her, did he finally get down on one knee on our tile kitchen floor say how much he loves both she and Gavin and couldn’t see spending the rest of his life without her and would she be willing to spend the rest of her life with him.

She of course said yes!

Which brings us to today and wanting to share this special moment with our closest friends and family.

We understand that travel and distance may make it difficult for some to be here, but we hope to see you June 5th, 2021.
