Our Wedding

We met at Ashland University, living in the same learning community, and instantly became best friends. From the very beginning, it felt like we’d known each other forever—laughing, teasing, and building a bond that only grew stronger with time.---Our relationship has always been about lifting each other up. We build on each other’s strengths, support one another through challenges, and celebrate every little victory together. Whether it’s an epic card game showdown, a playful roast, or cheering each other on through school and life’s ups and downs, we’ve always been each other’s biggest fans.---Since then, we’ve built a home together filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos—mostly courtesy of our fur babies. First came Lady, then Rosie, Brooke’s parents’ cat (and Scar’s former partner-in-crime), and finally Astro, an energetic little puppy who keeps us on our toes and fills our home with endless joy. Together, they’ve made our house a real home.---Then came the moment we’ll never forget: the proposal. Matt popped the question at home, in the living room, while Brooke was in pajamas. Brooke thought he was joking and actually said no at first—but the second she realized it was real, she said yes! Messy hair, PJs, and all, it was perfect. Matt proposed with his grandmother’s ring, proving that love isn’t about fancy gestures—it’s about the heart.---Through laughter, love, and just a little bit of chaos (both human and furry), we’ve built a partnership that’s strong, playful, and endlessly supportive. And now, we’re so excited to start this next chapter as husband and wife.

The J&amp;L Narrow Gauge Railroad operates an actual steam locomotive over a short stretch of track in Youngstown, OH. Visitors can ride behind our 1937 Porter saddle tank locomotive that once moved steel ingots at a Pittsburgh steel mill, as well as see various other pieces of railroading and steelmaking equipment on display. Operated entirely by volunteers, the J&amp;LNG is also the only regularly scheduled operating steam locomotive in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
