Our story started in February 2020.

Brooke swiped Right on Alex on the dating app, bumble. Shortly after she waited patiently to see if they would match and sure enough they did!

On bumble females have to start the conversations first and then the men have 24 hours to respond, I sent Alex a gif of a whale that said “whale hello there” with a whale waving. He said it was the best conversation starter he’d ever had. We talked all day through texts and then quarantine 2020 happened in March so our only communication was through our phones. We had long conversations through texts and when I tried to call or FaceTime Alex he wouldn’t answer so i almost thought he was a catfish. Fast forward to May 21, 2020 and we finally met face to face in Kiwanis park, we walked around for hours with no water. It was the best first date, even though we were clearly dehydrated. A few days past and we saw each other again and I said I wanted to be his girlfriend and Alex said “i thought you already were” and from there our relationship grew. He was there through a major surgery for me and a few short weeks later we found out we were pregnant with our son. We’ve definitely had some ups and downs but with communication and mutual respect we’ve watched our relationship flourish together. 2022 was a tough year but Alex stuck by me through all of it and in September he finally asked me to marry him! Alex is my best friend and everything I ever hoped a happily ever after would be. I can’t wait to marry him!
