Our Wedding

Brooke &amp; Brayan met at a Halloween Party on October 30th, 2021. It was a mostly awkward church party &amp; Brayan got his Coronas confiscated (shout out Nat!) at the door. Brooke &amp; Brayan talked for a while and the night ended with an awkard &amp; very platonic Corona at Brooke's kitchen table. Over the next few months, Brooke and Brayan saw each other "around" and very platonically.

Our Meet-Cute (...?)

Brayan asks Brooke out on a date in February of 2022. Brooke "Friend-Zones" him. In Brayan's own words, he's "not that good at basketball."

Brayan "Shoots His Shot" 

Brayan didn't stay in the friendzone for long, because by April Brooke had realized she was interested in getting to know this Brayan guy. She called him back to take him up on the date. When Brayan comes to pick Brooke up, he gets a parental lecture from Ali. Brooke and Brayan go roller skating and then land at a brewery to chat about politics, the intersections of religion &amp; culture, and racial inequity in America. Just the classic first date topics. After 6ish dates, they begin their 1.5 year long dating relationship on May 26, 2022.

Goin' Steady

That was the end of Act 1! The couple takes a little break in January of 2024. But don't worry, after a 3 month intermission, Act 2 gets wild!

Brief Intermission 

In April of 2024, Brooke and Brayan decide to be "all in" on this relationship thing. They've had some time apart and realize that it's hard to imagine life separated. They both get some therapy and commit to loving each other more deeply than before.

All-In

After 6 months of re-dating, it only took one wine &amp; pizza happy hour for Brooke and Brayan to excitedly start talking about engagement. They've done life separately and together ... then separately and together again. After evaluating the data, it seemed like doing life together was much more exciting and fulfilling. They plan to propose to each other on their upcoming 3-year "friendiversary."

Discovering the Black Moon Wine & Pizza Deal

On October 30th, 2024, Brooke and Brayan each got down on one knee to propose to the other. AND they both said yes! Brayan planned the first half of the engagement day. The couple got coffee, played cribbage, walked along the greenbelt (where Brayan proposed in a park), and then finished off the morning with Brunch at Quinn's with Ike, Ellie, and Abby. Brooke then took Brayan to get tattoos, make candles, eat pizza (at Black Moon...duh), and then for a walk behind Camel's Back Park where she proposed! They celebrated with a Corona and then headed to their engagement party at Broadway on the Rocks.

Happy Friendiversary (!!!) 

Shortly after deciding on an August wedding, the change in presidential administration caused the couple to reconsider their timeline... So, Brooke &amp; Brayan got married in an intimate winter micro wedding with their parents, grandparents, and bridal party there to witness. Then it was off to sunny California to Honeymoon!

Brayan moved in with Brooke and her 3 roommates. They are enjoying their new normal, and at the time of this publication, would rate marriage an 11/10. They can't wait to celebrate their union with all of you in August!

Brooke &amp; Brayan believe that God guided them to pursue the covenant of marriage together. Simultaneously, they recognize that their love story would not have unfolded if it were not for legislative protections, namely DACA, that enable people in Brayan's position to live and work in this country. Brooke and Brayan encourage you to advocate for other mixed-status love stories &amp; immigrants in this country by writing your senator and asking them to pass legislation that protects DACA recipients (aka Dreamers). If you would like to join them in advocating for Dreamers, please follow these steps to write your senator:1. We encourage you to include the following details:- Open with a call to pass legislation that provides permanent protections and a speedy pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.- Remind them that Dreamers contribute to our communities, economy, and society in countless ways. For this reason, they should not face uncertain futures in this country and deserve permanent protection.- Without the use of names, briefly share Brooke &amp; Brayan's story and emphasize the positive impact they have on their community, friends, workplaces and church. Let your senator know that you support Dreamers and think it is unfair that they face uncertain futures in the US.- Ask that they advocate for the reintroduction and passage of the American Dream and Promise Act or similar legislation in this session of Congress.&nbsp; 3.
