We met in the fall of 2015 when attending Eastern Kentucky University. Through mutual friends, we got to know each other better and I knew there was something about this one based on how everyone that knew him talked about him. Anytime Seth came up in conversation, someone inevitably would say, “I love that guy,” or, “Seth is awesome.” It seriously always happened.

Later that year when planning a spring break trip, I invited Seth to join in on a trip to Cancun with my mom. This felt sort of risky at the time since my mom had only briefly met Seth once before but it turned out being a trip we still think back to and remember as one of the best. It is also when my mom started to like Seth more than me.

Over the years, Seth and I have had a lot of fun traveling to other places like Maine, Florida, California, Niagara Falls, Peru, and London. While it has gotten a little harder to travel in the past couple of years, it has been a whole new adventure to move in with and live together in our little Lexington apartment and then our first home. Living with your best friend really does make the most boring days more fun.

It was fall break durning my senior year at Eastern Kentucky University. My roommate, me and a girl that had been hanging around on weekends were the only ones still in town. She came over to our place and we all played a game of Monopoly. My roommate was the first one bankrupt. That girl owned most of the board, but I had boardwalk and park place. They could only carry me so far. I ended up losing to that girl.

That was on October, 12th of 2015. A date that I will never forget, not because I lost a game of monopoly, but because of what I gained. I gained a best friend. I gained a beautiful smile that lights up my soul when she laughs at my stupid jokes. I gained someone to hold close and someone that holds me close. Blah blah blah cheesy love stuff.

Every year, we celebrate October, 12th in honor of what we call Monopoly Day. I have lost every year except last year. Here are a couple quick tips that I have learned after years of losing. Never invest in the utilities. Invest in railroads, yellows and greens. Also, pass go as many times as you can and collect that go money baby!

Anyway while I may not be the luckiest person ever in Monopoly, I consider myself the luckiest person ever to be able to spend the rest of my life with Brooke.
