Brook and Ben’s next few years were packed with new adventures. Covid, graduating highschool, onto Ambrose and volleyball. (They placed 2nd in rookie idol for the Ambrose volleyball teams with the song Shallow from A Star is Born.)

As they continued to grow up, their relationship grew stronger and they knew they could never be separated ever! #TRUELOVE

Then came July 3rd, 2023 at the cabin where Ben proposed!

At 10 PM, Ben jumped up and persuaded Brooklyn that they should go for a night swim out in the middle of the lake, something he’d never wanted to do before. Lance said they could take the boat out, even though they had only learned to drive it earlier that day. While this all seemed a little suspicious to Brook, she didn’t get her hopes up because she figured it would be weird that Ben would propose while she was in a bathing suit.

Once out there, Ben seemed a lot less excited about swimming after all, but hopped in anyway. After their dip, the two of them danced in the boat while warming up in their hoodie towels (Brook always said she wanted to be wearing a dress when she got engaged —so, close enough!) Suddenly, Ben got down on one knee and read to her the poem he’d written which ended with the question: “Brooklyn Raine Armstrong, will you marry me….?” Brooklyn obviously said “YESSSSS!!” and Ben slid a beautiful ring on her finger. Shortly after they returned back to the beach where family cheers filled the air and fireworks lit up the sky! And the rest was history.

Such a memorable weekend that neither of them want to forget (although they are still trying to block out the image of Brooks uncle in a 4th of July speedo from the next day, haha).
