How we Met

Picture of How we Met

Javi and I both went to Iowa Central. We were both friends with the same person. I saw Javi in the Cafeteria talking to our friend. I ended up asking her for Javis snap but never ended up snapping him. According the Javi, I was the one who kept looking at him, but really it was him. Finally, Javi started snapping me and we talked for a few months till he finally asked me out at AppleBees on March 8th, 2020.

Our Engagement

Javier always told me that we wouldn't be getting engaged in a long time as Javi would say, "I'm broke". I believed it for the longest time till July 2nd we had a "Fourth of July party" at my moms house as I thought that's what it was. We had family and friends come, Javis parents even came for the surprise. I had a nice white shirt on, and ended up changing into one of Javi's old paint shirts. Everyone kept saying to me, "You're wearing that?" and my sister, Bree kept telling me I needed to do my hair and my make up cause I 'looked homeless". I had no idea why she was being so judgmental on what I looked like or what I was wearing. We (Bree and Jacque) had gone to my moms bathroom to get ready. After we got done getting ready, an hour and a half later, I had realized I was the only one who looked really dressed up (still not knowing Javi was proposing). We went down our lane way and took "family pictures" and I thought it was so weird how everyone was going to watch us take pictures. After we got all the family pictures, Javi said he wanted one with me. That's when I saw a shiny thing, as I thought it was a gum wrapper he was pulling out of his sock as a joke. That's when I realized it was not a fake ring or a gum wrapper, it was real! Javi took my dads ring that he proposed to my mom with and took it in to get it customized. The big diamond was the one my dad picked out, and the rest Javi customized himself (with the help of my sister).
