Boy oh boy, the timeline of our sweet love story is my absolute favorite. Grab some popcorn and a timeline, because I (Brooklyn) still get all the dates confused.
In 2020, I moved out to the hills for my clinical orientation for x-ray school. Upon moving out here, I moved in with two girls, Paige and Brianna. That summer, Paige had mentioned that she was going to go to Hippie Hole with a family friend, named Caleb. So I did some stalking on Instagram on this Caleb boy. Come to find out he was a boy that I thought was cute in middle/high school. I had seen him at many track events.
Flash forward, Caleb adds me on snapchat and he had posted on his snapchat story. At this time, Caleb was deployed overseas and he posted "Merry Christmas" from wherever he was at. So naturally, I use this as an excuse to tell him Merry Christmas and we continued to talk occasionally throughout his deployment. Our conversations were few and far between through this time, so it was mainly just small talk. Caleb got back from his deployment in April, 2022 and we hung out a couple of times that spring and summer. After some while of hanging out, things were just typical and we went our own ways with school, work and life.
November 22nd rolls around, and I get a message from Caleb asking if I was around for the weekend to go out for a supper date. UMM HELLOOOOO?! Somebody pinch me I'm dying! I knew the first time that we hung out, there was something so special about this guy. However, God had different plans for the both of us in our time apart and we can now confirm that God's timing is everything.
So, I sit here writing this brief love story in a coffee shop in September, while Caleb is away from home for work. In the time that we have to spend apart, I can speak for both of us that our break from that spring to winter, was the best thing that could have happened for both of us. I would wait for Caleb in another lifetime if that meant I could have a love like the one that I will now have for forever. <3
