Truth be told our story isn't an elaborate fairytale, but it's our story.
(From Brooklyn's perspective)
Nate and I met each other in a high school P.E class. We didn't talk to one another much except for when we were paired up into groups. I was into bad boy looking kids at that age and he fit the bill. The lip ring caught my attention big time. So naturally I thought he was cute but never acted on anything because my best friend at the time had a crush on him plus I was way too shy.
(Nate's perspective)
I always wanted to talk to her but never really did except for a few times in high school. So I finally found the courage to talk to her. My cat started needing a lot more toys or just any excuse to go see her. I then asked her out on a proper date to dinner and a movie, classic. Found out that night we both have sweaty hands.

He texted me and we just started talking. Initially I thought nothing was going to come of this and I almost blocked him from texting me. Woo am I glad I didn't. We continued talking and he started to come visit me at the feed store I worked at. He would bring me chai teas and we would stand in the pet isle and just talk. And my best friend who happened to also be my coworker would tease me about how red my face would get through the radio in my ear.
We then went out on a pre-date walk to a boardwalk and chatted for hours, after coincidently getting tattoos at the same time in town. The next afternoon he picked me up and we went to dinner and the movies in sweatpants.(Which I found out later he hates wearing lounge clothes in public, but he did because I asked him too). From there we have had many adventures and only grown closer. We knew fairly fast that this was our person for the rest of our lives.
(Nate's perceptive)
Our song (Diamond in my pocket by Cody Johnson) when we started the truck that morning all by itself. It was a sign that today was the day. I had the ring in my jacket pocket all day. When we got to Yellowstone I was looking at the views but mainly to find "the spot". While we were going up the hill I threw the truck into a untouched pile of snow on the side of the road. "I don't know lets try here" went through my mind. Because she liked it i knew this was the spot. I started shaking like a skeleton in winter, I was nervous. I had a rough idea of what I was going to say but once I got down on one knee it all faded away. When she said yes I was so relieved! Best decision I ever made.

The weather was beautiful! It was sunny and warm but none of the snow had melted yet and it was glittery untouched. We had been walking around Yellowstone for about an hour before we got back into the truck to head up to the next view. As we were headed up Nate pulled off the road in a secluded spot. We got out and just marveled at the view. The mountains were just beautiful. I started taking some pictures of the view. I drew a heart in the snow with our initials in it. Nate went back to the truck to "grab his coat" but came back with no coat because he decided "he didn't want it". I had the random thought what if he's proposing? Then was like no way. Then he wanted to take a picture of me looking at the view which was odd because he doesn't take pictures but I didn't think anything of it. Then I hear "I can't figure this out" which also didn't surprise me because he isn't great with technology haha. I turn around to see him down on his knee and smiling at me. Then he said "You make me so happy, will you make me happy forever? Brooklyn Joy Wester will you marry me?" and of course I said Yes!!
