Love is BS

It started as most relationships do....with a swipe. Yep. It's true, these two met on a dating app. Neither was looking for anything serious when they first messaged in August of 2017. Bry was set to move to Los Angeles in January of 2018 and Sara was back east on an indefinite hiatus from Los Angeles to work on a film project. Nevertheless, they swiped and messaged over their shared passion for film and storytelling. They decided to go on a date, at least Bry thought it was a date, turns out Sara thought it was business meeting to learn more about the Philadelphia film industry. But, Bry won Sara over, their meeting/date was electric, so they went on actual first date at Barcade in Philadelphia. They played old school video games, drank beers, and shared their first kiss amongst stacks of books at vintage warehouse sale. They kept spending time together all fall, even though their future felt unknown as Bry was still set to move to LA. Fortunately/unfortunately things took a turn with the project that Sara was working on as the studio attached pulled funding due to the political climate. This meant Sara was a free agent, she decided to go back to LA. Just four months after meeting Sara and Bry packed up and drove cross country together and got their first place together.....when you know you know.

It started with a swipe.....

In October of 2018 Sara and Bry got a text from their friend Louise of an adorable orange kitten "if you don't foster this kitten she is going to the shelter." They responded to the call and began fostering the kitten. They jokingly called her "Angel Baby Nugget" because she was so tiny. Of course they foster failed and Angel Baby Nugget was officially named Nug and became a part of the Gallagher-Werner family.

After a year and half together in LA Sara and Bry were feeling burnout. Anyone who has lived in LA knows it is a city that can be as cruel as it it beautiful. Sara booked a directing gig in NYC in June of 2019, so they decided to head back east to New Jersey to regroup for a few months, little did they know that few months would turn into two years. Fortunately, they got a got in one last trip to Spain and Germany : )

To and Fro....

Bry and Sara hunkered down in Cape May, New Jersey for the height of the pandemic. They filled their time with runs through the wetlands, socially distant beach sunsets with friends, and lots of movies. During this time Sara was promoted to a Lieutenant position with the Cape May beach patrol, the first female to ever hold this position! The film industry was crippled by the pandemic so going back to LA was not a viable option they decided to take matters into their own hands. In May of 2021 Bry and Sara filmed their first short film together "Homecoming" with the help of friends, family, and an amazing creative team!

In January 2022 Sara, Bry, and Nug made their triumphant return to Los Angeles. They settled into a small bungalow style apartment in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Santa Monica. Over the past three years they have built an incredible community of friends both old and new.

LA: TAKE 2

On March 29, 2024 Bry proposed to Sara at the peak of one of their favorite hikes in the Anza-Borrego desert. Sara proposed back the next day, under a rainbow, while Bry was holding nug (GAY).

The Propsal 

Bry and Sara made the decision to elope in Joshua Tree, CA with the support of a small but mighty group of local friends on Friday December 13 2024. This was not the originial plan, but the couple felt it was important to legally wed before the incoming administration took office in order to ensure their rights as a married couple.

Wedding Part 1

Bry and Sara are looking forward to celebrating their nuptials on a bigger scale with family and friends on June 13, 2025. After all, Love is BS.

We recognize that many of our out of town guests will be adding time before or after the wedding celebrations to vacation/explore Southern California. Therefore, we have opted not to choose a designated hotel. We want people to be free to choose accommodation that best fits their needs. We have compiled a list of suggested hotels, inns, and other stays. We do recommend staying on the westside of Los Angeles (Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Marina Del Rey, El Segundo, Playa Del Rey, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach). We find that in Los Angeles, Airbnb/Vrbo offer the best deals.
