Brydie and Doug's love story began as strangers in the night. Doug was getting off work bouncing and headed to a local pub for a drink with co-workers. Brydie was there with friends. Doug sat across the bar from Brydie, and they looked at each other and smiled. Both feeling sheepish, looked away and then back at each other. Brydie waited to see if Doug would hopefully come over to talk to her but finally worked up the courage to go talk to him. Later, Brydie would find out that Doug was enthralled in a game of Pokemon Go on his phone. They spent the rest of the evening laughing and getting to know each other.

Brydie and Doug wasted no time in texting with each other after exchanging numbers and then Doug asked Brydie on a formal date. On their first date, Brydie and Doug talked for hours and both felt completely comfortable with one another. Brydie realized how wonderful of a guy Doug was when after explaining that she had a lot of baggage, he not only didn't judge her or make her feel less than, but he simply grabbed her hand and said, "We all have baggage and I was just wondering since I like you, do you mind if I help you pick up those bags?" And, Doug did exactly that!

Their relationship blossomed over the next few months and Doug and Brydie couldn't get enough of one another. Brydie would bring over lunch to Doug at Hondo on her work breaks, Doug would surprise Brydie with flowers, and together they would find virtually any reason to go on a date with one another. Doug met Brydie's children and although they were both nervous how that would go, the kids enjoyed Doug's company just as much as Brydie... a huge relief for both of them. Outings together could finally include everyone and the children's love for Doug grew as much as Brydie's love for him and vice versa.

As time passed and many more memories were made, Doug decided that he wanted to ask Brydie to marry him. What Brydie thought would be a date to go see the Frankfort Tree Lighting and a dinner, turned into the most magical moment for both of them. Doug got down on one knee and asked Brydie to marry him. Brydie said yes and together they celebrated their current and future love for one another!
