UT Dallas - Freshman Year (2018)
We met briefly while studying with friends for the round of tests before Fall break. After the break, we ran into each other on campus and began to become friends! After lots of group dining hall meals, studying in the dorm study rooms, and Trent fixing Brynne’s “broken” box fan, we finally decided to go on an official date.
December 2018
The longest first date ever! Trent planned it all and kept it a surprise for Brynne. We went to our favorite all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant (we were regulars by the time we graduated) for a good lunch, then headed off to the movies. We watched Bohemian Rhapsody and by the time we left the theater, it was still light out. Trent insisted we drive around until it got dark outside (super concerning to Brynne), then parked in the middle of a random dark neighborhood. We got out, and Trent opened the trunk to reveal a pile of jackets, gloves, hats and scarves that we decked ourselves in. After walking a block or so, we found the wonderful over-the-top Christmas lights of Deerfield! We explored the magical lights, and then it was time for dinner together (tacos this time). Almost 12 hours later, the date was over and we were both smitten!
Spring semester of our sophomore year, the world changed! We spent the first month or two apart, but then both ended up back in DFW. Lots of covid tests, online classes, masked college athletics, quarantines and game nights spent together. We made the best of it and cherished all the extra time together!
May 2022 - September 2024
Trent went off to Cali for an internship in summer of 2022, then back to UTD for his last year of grad school. Brynne went to Houston for a year (June 2022 - June 2023) and then traveled across the country until Fall of 2024. While we were both in Texas, we had lots of nice weekend trips to see each other. When we were states apart, we had hours upon hours of adventurous road trips and plane rides to create new memories with each other! The distance was hard, but allowed us to grow our relationship and experience all kinds of new places.
December 26, 2023
Trent surprised Brynne at a park in San Antonio! Lots of family from both sides were able to join the celebrations after (which of course included Mexican food). We even had two different photographers on site to capture the moment!
Trent graduated with his Masters of Mechanical Engineering in May of 2023 and began working for Lockheed Martin in Dallas shortly after. Brynne graduates with her Masters in Orthotics and Prosthetics in December of 2024, will take her certification exams, and find a job in the DFW area. We love to host taco Tuesday’s, game nights, and explore the outdoors. Come hang out with us in DFW!
