Brythe’s take... I had been noticing this guitarist at church for a while, and was excited to see him as a part of the band at our church’s women’s conference in March 2017...until I saw (what I swore was) a ring on his finger. Fast forward to summer 2017, when I was having dinner with my sweet friend Sara and her husband Ross. They agreed it was time to mention this guy Ross had played with at another church event&mdash;they thought we would hit it off&mdash;and then I realized it was the same guitar player I had noticed before...and I was interested. Unfortunately, it took until November for us to officially meet...for wings and games at Sara and Ross’s house. It sounds cliche, but I knew that day that this boy was a special one that would not be a passing ship. We finally went on our first date to Lonerider (where we stood in the freezing cold parking lot and talked until well after they closed) after Thanksgiving, and I definitely knew that Matt was a keeper. The rest is history! Matt’s side&hellip;In 2017, I had been playing guitar for our church for a few years, which allowed me to begin playing music at our church’s special events and other campuses within our church.&nbsp;&nbsp;This gave&nbsp;me the opportunity to meet a lot of new friends, including&nbsp;Ross and Sara Henderson.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ross was one of our church’s drummers, and I met his wife Sara during lunch after me and Ross finished playing services at the church’s Alamance campus.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ross and I&nbsp;hit it off and ended up hanging out a lot when we both served on the worship band for Summit’s student ministry camp in Tennessee that summer.&nbsp;&nbsp;Unbeknownst to me, Sara had a friend that she wanted to set me up with, and Ross’ job at camp was to gauge my interest in meeting her.&nbsp;&nbsp;Eventually, Ross asked me at camp if I was seeing anyone, and if I would be interested in a friend of theirs.&nbsp;&nbsp;He told me about Brythe and said he and Sara would work on getting something set up when we got back from camp.&nbsp;&nbsp;It took a while, but Ross finally came through and set up a game night at his house in November.&nbsp;&nbsp;I enjoyed hanging out with Brythe, and told Ross to set up another hang out, which ended up being for Sunday afternoon football.&nbsp;&nbsp;I had to attend the Lt. Governor’s Ball the night before after church was over&hellip;I had to change clothes at church and remember strategically walking by Brythe in the parking lot in my full suit to tell her I would see her the next day for football (spoiler alert&hellip;it worked).&nbsp;&nbsp;After football the next day, we stood in Ross and Sara’s driveway for over an hour and I finally asked her out.&nbsp;&nbsp;We had our first date at Lonerider Brewing the weekend after Thanksgiving, which ended with us staying well after closing time in the freezing cold parking lot.&nbsp;&nbsp;I knew that night that there was something special about Brythe, and was so excited to go out with her again the next night&hellip;unfortunately work got in the way literally 15 minutes before our date, making me have to cancel.&nbsp;&nbsp;I couldn’t believe how understanding she was about it, and that she gave me a chance to make it up to her the next night.&nbsp;&nbsp;I knew then and there that this girl was it for me, and that she could handle my unpredictable schedule.&nbsp;&nbsp;We made it official two weeks later and never looked back!
