The couple initially met each other in 2015 when Lizzie was working at Packer’s Farm and Cade, Erica (Cades Mother), and Campton (Cades Brother) were visiting the Packers pumpkin patch. While Lizzie tending the register with Cades family, her supervisor took the time to teach her how to count back change on a cash sale in front of them.
How embarrassing!
Two years later, Elizabeth was the first to reach out. They began to message each other and eventually met for the first time when they skipped class to walk the halls.
Lizzie moved to college in 2019 and Cade remained in Hood River but the two continued to date and drive back and forth to visit one another. After the pandemic hit Lizzie decided to move home and continue school online. After a year, the two decided they wanted to try something new and ended up moving to Ketchikan, Alaska for 5 months and working at Knudson Cove Marina. They had the opportunity to explore southeast Alaska and share it with friends and family who visited them. They got the full Alaska experience by living in a yurt with power from a car battery, water from a rain tank, an outhouse, a propane oven and stovetop, a fireplace, and showering at the community center. This was the first place they had lived together and their first real adventure. They returned to Hood River and started to grow up a little more.
Over a year later on December 10, 2022, Cade proposed on a weekend trip to Leavenworth. The ring was one Lizzie had tried on in Ketchikan and he bought it the day after her birthday in 2021.
They have continued to adventure and are excited to share their lives together and their stories with all the family and friends who are attending to celebrate them.
