On February 14, 2018, Cade sent Madison a series of sweet Valentine’s Day treats, each one left in her locker. The final gift was a teddy bear, with a note asking her to be his Valentine. After a few Snapchats, Madison asked for his number, and their first date was a trip to the zoo. It was there that Madison knew he was the one—she quickly fell for his quick wit and those soft blue eyes.

Five years of love and laughter later, Cade finally popped the question. For the proposal, he took her bowling and then to get root beer floats—two of their favorite things. Afterward, he took her to the lake, where she was surprised to find two of her best friends waiting. Scattered around the trees by the lake were notes from family members and photos capturing their journey together, all these memories illuminated with lights. With their closest friends by her side, Cade got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
