Sophomore year of high school Caden made the brave decision to ask Gus to wear his football jersey for homecoming, with some persuasion from a friend, she accepted. Little did she know their friendship would grow into a life long adventure. Throughout high school they enjoyed spending time with family and friends, supporting each other at their many sporting events, and searching for new hobbies to experience together. In 2018, they graduated high school and decided to pursue their respective degrees.

Caden traveled down to Iowa State University to study Civil Engineering, and Gus to Winona State University to study Accounting. As they grew as individuals, they were able to create many memories together and gain many lifelong friends. Some of their favorite memories involve tailgating and enjoying Iowa State football games. In 2022, they graduated with the comfort of knowing they had jobs close to home.

As much as they love their families, they only lasted a few months before taking the next step and finding an apartment together. Over the next couple of years they grew even closer and brought in a furry addition to their family, Nova. In their free time you can find them on the lake, traveling to see friends, or on the golf course.

It did not take Caden long to know he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Gus. Caden thought he was being clever by using his birthday dinner as a cover to pop the question. After an amazing meal at Anton’s Restaurant, Caden asked that they go for a walk by the river. On January 24, 2024 Caden got down on one knee and asked Gus to be his forever.

They are beyond excited to celebrate their past 9 years and the future ahead with family and friends in Sartell on May 30, 2025.
