How We Met

Sam and Cadence met in college at North Dakota State University through a mutual friend, Pat (shout out to Pat!). They instantly had a connection. Cadence reached out to (unknowing and innocent) Sam a week later asking to hang out again. They started talking more and seeing each other almost daily. They had many shared interests like music, hobbies, and a love of animals. It wasn't long until Sam wanted to make things "official"... and who can blame him? Sam asked Cadence to be his boo and then drunkenly said those three words "I love you," two weeks later. And it's been a dream ever since, especially for Cadence.

Our Engagement

After dating for 8 years (damn) Sam planned out his proposal to Cadence. Cadence and Sam had already designed the ring together at Your Day by Nicole, however, Cadence did not know how soon Sam would be proposing. Sam initially wanted to propose when they traveled to Nashville in September of 2020, but Covid. Then he wanted to propose in Duluth, but again, Covid.

Finally, on a cold December day, Cadence had a typical, mundane Monday and went to get her oil changed. Sam went to work decorating the house with roses and balloons. Cadence came home to find rose petals on the floor leading her upstairs to the kitchen and dining room. She came upstairs to find Sam and a dozen vases filled with a dozen red roses in each one behind him. Balloons bouncing on the ceiling and "Latch" (acoustic version) by Sam Smith was playing in the background. Sam led Cadence to the center of the room and got down on one knee and popped the big question.
