How did we meet? Our first date was at the Angola Prison Rodeo. Romantic, I know! Although I will admit, it was love at first sight. The first date lasted for 9 hours!!

But what you don't know is the story behind the scenes that got us to our first date.

Justin and I both had a decade of walls built up against dating. It took a very determined individual to bring us together. No other than Mrs. Rosa Eleser, Justin's mom.

Mrs. Rosa persistently insisted that we should meet. By pure determination, she would bring Justin's name up to me everyday at work. And in hindsight, I found out that my name was frequently mentioned at every family gathering.

Skeptically, we agreed to exchange numbers. That evening Justin called me on the phone!! Yes!! 2022 and this Man made a phone call. That's when I agreed to a first date with his family to the Angola Prison Rodeo. And he's been calling me every day since. Though rain or shine Justin always calls.

We are thankful that God worked through Mrs. Rosa to bring us together. And we're thankful to God for softening our hearts to be open to love. God is good all the time.
