Cadyn:

I met Josh by chance at the Charleston Wine + Food Festival in 2019. I was meeting up with my best friend Bonny and her new boyfriend, Justice, and Justice brought along Josh because they had grown up together. Josh was quiet at first, but I kept asking him questions about himself and after we warmed up, we were instant friends. We were both dating other people at the time.

We continued that friendship for a year and a half, spending time together with our friend group going bowling, to the beach, or at our local dive bar, Gene's. At all of these outings we most often would end up talking for a long time, getting deep about life or hating on bad movies.

In August 2020, we (finally) began dating. I have loved Josh since the day I met him, first in friendship, and for these past three years, in partnership. He brings so much joy to my life with the way he makes me laugh, cares for me, and values me. He is the most hardworking person I've ever met, he is sweet but sarcastic (important for fitting in with my family), creative, handsome, and he is endlessly loyal to the people in his life.

I am so excited to marry Josh and see his refrigerator doodles forever.

Josh:

The day I met Cadyn we were both attending a food and wine festival. I was going with my close friend to meet his new girlfriend (Bonny) and to enjoy free drinks and food. Bonny had brought her friend. When I was first introduced to Cadyn, I was my normal self, a little closed off and shy with new people. We didn't say much to each other throughout the day, but she kept asking me if I had tried a specific chocolate mousse at one of the tables. She had made it a point that I needed to try it and she cared that I did. It was a small thing, but it threw me off that a stranger wanted to share a moment with me.

We eventually left the festival and agreed to have dinner with our two friends. Over that dinner I saw how beautiful and smart she was, but also incredibly funny and outgoing. At the end of the night, I knew she was always going to be a part of my life in some way.

We stayed good friends for a couple of years, both seeing other people. We would hang out occasionally, but I think we both knew how much we cared for one another. Both of our lives changed drastically in 2020. We did not see each other for a little while, but when we finally got to talk to each other again we didn't stop. I fell in love with her, and I knew very quickly I wanted to walk with her for the rest of my life. We love cats.
