The story all started in May of 2020 during the beginning of a global pandemic….

Much like most people during this time in life, there wasn’t too much going on socially. After a month of Caleb being cooped up in his apartment, he decided to “slide into Caitlin’s DMs” via Instagram (a tale as old as time). Caleb is not known for being a “shy” individual, so this DM was full of confident. Caitlin, who is not known for being a quick responder in any form of communication, did not jump as quickly as you may think at Caleb’s smooth message. Persistence has always been a quality trait Caleb possess and persistence it took. Eventually, Caitlin decided she would go out with the “Wild Child/Preachers Kid” she knew of from their time at the University of West Georgia.

Since no restaurants, bars, or indoor options were open, Caleb decided to plan a unique date (fitting for the times they were living in). Caleb picked out a trail near where both of them lived not far off the Chattahoochee River, and brought along Caitlin’s favorite beverage he remembered from a prior conversation. They immediately began to talk and joke and learn a little bit about one another. After an hour or so of hiking and chatting, they decided they didn’t want stop hanging out and went to a pub not far away that happened to be open & serving on the patio. Caitlin and Caleb spent the rest of the afternoon together, and both agreed they wanted to see each other again.

They were happily engaged 2 years later on the same trail they had their first date!
