Lexi is Caitlin's older sister. Growing up, Caitlin and Lexi shared many common experiences such as playing on the same sports teams and eventually attending the same university, only two years apart. Caitlin appreciates Lexi's creativity, joyful presence and candid humour. She has been a constant support and friend throughout all of Caitlin's life.

Simon and Jensen's friendship developed swiftly and with beautiful depth while living together during Simon's final year at Western University. From studying together and playing intense rounds of Mario Kart, to now talking about marriage and life, Jensen has been present for some of Simon's most formative years of his life.

Denae is one of Caitlin's best friends. They kicked off their friendship living in the same dorm at Trinity Western University and have only gotten closer since. Denae is an incredible encourager and listener. She loves on others well, as evidenced by the Niebuhr's regularly hosting Simon and Caitlin for meals and dreaming of future travel plans together.

Since meeting through church small group, Markus has become one of Simon's really good friends. Although it was convenient that Caitlin already knew the Niebuhr's, Markus and Simon's friendship occurred naturally through their joint interests. Double dates, golf games and meaningful carpooling conversations while playing on the same soccer team have only brought them closer together.

Riley is also one of Caitlin's best friends. Initially meeting at Trinity Western University, they became roommates for over three years. Despite Riley now living in her hometown of San Diego, their friendship remains strong, with frequent audio messages on a weekly or daily basis. Riley has been an impactful and loyal friend through Caitlin's formative years, both in faith and life.

When Simon started attending The Way Church in the fall of 2023, he joined a small group led by Alex and his wife. Alex, with his quick wit, sense of humour and earnest heart became a fast friend and a pillar within Simon's new Vancouver community. Simon and Alex share a love for talking all things faith, life, politics and hockey.

Cassie is Caitlin's sister-in-law. Despite never living in the same place, Caitlin feels privileged to have spent time with Cassie in many places including Brooks, Calgary, Vancouver, Phoenix and Maui. Cassie has become a close friend in many ways, with a shared highlight of their friendship being that they are exact same size in all clothes!

Ryan is Caitlin's younger brother. Simon has had the privilege of spending time getting to know Ryan through visits to both Brooks and Maui, where he and his wife Cassie live. Simon is excited to gain a brother-in-law who can talk life, faith and be friendly competition in sports including ping pong, spikeball, golf and more.
