Caitlin and Cody met in late October 2016 but their love story didn't bloom until July 2017. Shortly after Caitlin and Cody met, Cody left for Mexico to play baseball during the winter season and Caitlin started traveling more for her job. After almost 8 months of back and forth, both Cody and Caitlin decided it was time to truly test the relationship waters.

Again separated by distance (Cody was in Southern Maryland), Caitlin and Cody committed themselves to see each other as much as possible and really get to know each other. Almost a year after they met, Caitlin underwent ACL reconstruction surgery (October 2017) with Cody by her side. Even though he wasn't technically there when she woke up (he was having his truck worked on and subsequently got coffee for Caitlin's mom) he was a constant motivator during her Physical Therapy sessions.

Cody and Caitlin quickly became inseparable, and Caitlin moved in with Cody in January 2018. Fast forward to September 2018 and the Hulyo-Eppley household grew by one. Caitlin and Cody brought home a not so tall, but dark and handsome, four legged, cold nosed German Shepherd puppy named Dinger. Dinger has turned into a wood destroying, shadow hunting, leaf chasing, howling goofball. When their little nugget grew too fast for their townhouse, they decided to move and buy a bigger home to grow into and moved to Lancaster in June 2019.

On December 7, 2019, before attending the Nutcracker in Washington, D.C.'s Warner Theater, Cody surprised Caitlin by proposing in their hotel room. They celebrated the night with pizza and the remaining champagne Cody had arranged to be brought to the room.
