On a Tuesday in November at Water Street, back in 2017, Cait and Mike were introduced. They got to chatting and soon after Caitlin *strongly encouraged* Mike to join her on the dance floor. They exchanged numbers and began talking and building a friendship but nothing really ever came of it. Fast forward to the summer of 2019, Cait and Mike were reunited in Asbury Park and this time it stuck…almost. Mike was still living in Maryland and commuting back to New Jersey almost every weekend. In October they decided to take a break, which was more like a pause, because on November 22, 2019 they finally decided this was something worth trying for and year later, they moved in together. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of adventures - cross country travel, camping, car shows, line dancing, axe throwing, hiking, and exploring their new hometown- you name it.

April 2, 2023…It was just another Sunday. Cait and Mike were getting ready to go see a favorite band, LoCash, in Atlantic City with some friends. Mike suggested they spend the morning cleaning the house, to which Caitlin agreed (and would later really find out why). They’re friends showed up in the afternoon and they were off to Atlantic City. Thanks to a friend, they were able to get a cabana right by the stage (how lucky?!) and did some dancing. It was the perfect day - enjoying the company of friends doing something they all loved. Mike was waiting for the perfect moment, or song really, and the band started playing “Ring on Every Finger”. Caitlin and her friend were dancing and Mike came out to join them…or so they thought! Mike took Cait’s hand to spin her around and dropped to one knee and the rest is history !
