Caitlin and Brendan were in Bogotá, Colombia, visiting their good friends Emily and Travis. With just two days left of their trip, Brendan booked an incredible 8-course tasting menu at Leo, one of the top 50 best restaurants in South America (huge thanks to Emily for the excellent recommendation!).

During dinner, Caitlin stepped away, and while she was gone, Brendan handed the engagement ring to the waiter, trusting a total stranger to help pull off the surprise of a lifetime.

When Caitlin came back, everything seemed "normal-ish"—until, between the second-to-last dessert, Brendan started sharing how much he loved her but was fumbling over all of his words. Then, the waiter brought out a plate of dry ice with the ring set right in the center! As Brendan got down on one knee and popped the question, the whole restaurant burst into cheers and applause.

After calling their families and friends to share the big news, Caitlin and Brendan headed to a local "wanna-be" Irish bar and celebrated until close, toasting a night they’ll never forget!
