Our Wedding

Caitlin and Christian met at Wheeler High School in Valparaiso, Indiana. They always knew of each other but their story didn’t officially being until in the spring of Christian’s junior year and Caitlin’s sophomore year. After going on a few dates in the Spring, they would go on to pretty much being together the whole summer going into Christian’s senior year and Caitlin’s junior year. After going to Homecoming that fall, it was actually Caitlin who asked Christian to be her boyfriend! After this they went on to date for ten years before getting engaged. Caitlin went to Butler in Indianapolis and Christian went to Indiana University. They would travel back and forth the hour and fifteen minutes to visit each other on weekends. During Caitlin’s senior year at Butler, Christian had a job with USA Football in Indianapolis. During the fall of Caitlin’s senior year, she was excited to find out she was accepted into Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana. Long distance did not really start until early 2020. Christian was offered a job in New York City with CBS Sports Network. This was a very exciting moment for his career and after a lot of deliberation, Christian decided to make the move out to Brooklyn early March 2020. A couple days before starting at CBS, the dreaded COVID-19 took over and the United States shut down. Christian was stuck in New York for a couple months until finally he was able to get back home for the summer, Caitlin and Christian were able to be together that summer before she started Optometry School in the fall. Christian was able to move back to NYC that same fall, but because of COVID protocols, they were not able to see each other in person until right after Christmas 2020. Caitlin was able to go to New York for the first time for New Years Eve. Throughout the four years of Optometry school, Caitlin was able to go to New York to visit a couple of times and Christian was able to come home and to Bloomington. Now, Caitlin has graduated Optometry school and is working in Indianapolis, IN. Caitlin and Christian are looking forward to building their life in Indy and are very excited for 10.18.2025, where they will have been together for twelve years and are looking forward to many many more.
