What part of Paros are we visiting?
Based on Damon's and my personal experience, we believe that Naoussa will be the best area for our crew to take over. It is surrounded by locals, restaurants, bars, and shopping stores, making it the most accessible and convenient location.
The charming seaside town of Naoussa is the best place to stay for first-time visitors to Paros. A half-sunken Venetian castle anchors its picturesque Old Port, with fishing boats and pleasure boats moored in its natural bay. A water taxi connects Naoussa to three gorgeous beaches: Kolymbithres (known for its lunar-like landscape), Monastiri (part of Paros Park nature preserve), and Laggeri (a rustic, clothing-optional beach). More than a dozen small chapels and churches dot the harbor and streets, many open to pedestrians only. The island’s only winery sits on a hillside at the edge of the village. Certainly quaint but also sophisticated, Naoussa’s winding flagstone lanes host several fine dining restaurants, swish cocktail lounges, trendy hotels, and luxury boutiques offering clothing and accessories from Greek and international designers. Two beaches, Piperi and Agioi Anargyroi, bookend the village. Both are organized beaches with sunbed/umbrella sets, casual snack bars, and hotels onsite or steps away.
Why are there so many hotel options?
Greek hotels are known for their small size, typically offering only 10 to 15 rooms per hotel. Due to this, we have curated a wide range of hotel options to ensure that you find the perfect accommodation for your stay. From budget-friendly to luxurious, our selection caters to different price points and preferences, allowing you to choose the ideal lodging that suits your needs. Additionally, all the hotels selected are situated in a cluster, all adjacent to each other, so you don't have to worry about being far from others in different hotels.
What is the currency?
The currency in Greece is the Euro. The € and $ are close in value. Check with your bank if they offer currency exchange as this will be the best rate. If need be, you can exchange currency at the airports but note the exchange fees are higher.
Before travel, inform your bank or credit card company about your travel plans to avoid any issues.
Credit cards are widely accepted, however, having some cash is helpful for small purchases such as cabs, cafes, shops, etc.
When should I book by?
We recommend planning early, as flights typically will start to pop up about a year before the wedding. It’s best to keep an eye on flight prices as soon as they become available to gauge when to purchase plane tickets for the best deals.
what should i wear to the wedding?
We’ll have our ceremony during golden hour, followed by the reception that will light up the night. For this special occasion, we kindly ask our guests to wear cocktail attire—think elegant yet fun! Whether it’s a chic dress, a dapper suit, or fabulous accessories, we can’t wait to see you all looking your best.
As the sun sets and the night unfolds, it may get a bit chilly, so we recommend bringing along a stylish shawl or wrap just in case.
what is the time difference?
Greece is 7 hours ahead of Philadelphia.
What healthcare resources are available if needed?
In the unlikely event of an emergency or if you simply need some general medication, rest assured that Paros offers a variety of healthcare resources to keep you well during your stay. The General Hospital of Paros, located in Parikia, provides emergency services and essential medical care. For more specialized needs, private clinics in Naoussa and Parikia have English-speaking staff ready to assist you. Additionally, pharmacies are conveniently located throughout the island, fully stocked with both prescription and over-the-counter medications, and pharmacists are always on hand to help with minor health concerns.
