April 2004 - We were introduced by my friend and also Devan's cousin, Nichole Harms (bridesmaid). A few months after meeting we officially dated in the summertime. We were eachother's "first loves". Devan and his family moved to California at the end of the year and we maintained a long distance relationship for some time. We decided to break it off after almost a year of being apart.

October 2008 - A few years had gone by, but we still hadn't given up on eachother. We reconnected again and talked on the phone every night for months before I flew out to visit Devan. We spent a long weekend and decided to make our relationship official, AGAIN! We did the long distance thing ... but only a few months this time until March of 2009, when Devan made the decision to move back to Illinois so we could be together. About a year later we moved in together. Our beautiful daughter Alli was born October 7th, 2010. She has brought so much joy to our lives.

May 2014 - On May 1st, 2014 Devan asked me if I wanted to go for a bike ride with Alli after work. I thought it was a little weird, it was raining most of the day and really cold... but I said why not? I met him at Big Bear Lake in Vernon Hills. This has always been our spot. I grew up going there as a kid when my grandmother lived right near by. We go fishing and biking there all the time. He knows it's one of my favorite places. When I got there he and Alli were there with roses. Devan was so excited, I was barely was out of my car before he was on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said "yes!".
