For me it started the day that my baby sister Annabella got baptized. She chose to celebrate her baptism at Panda Express. My mother invited her life group to come and celebrate with us, but out of everyone invited only one person came with us. Caitlin was the only member of the life group who attended.

At this point she was just a random person the same age as me who I had never met or heard of before. Somehow though we wound up sitting next to each other and started talking. It really kicked off when Annabella asked me if I was single and if I was using any dating apps. This was Incredibly awkward for me and everyone else proceeded to just sit there and laugh.

After the meal we took turns reading our fortune cookies out loud until we got to Caitlin who read one word and started laughing. She handed the paper to my mother who started laughing and then to my father who started laughing. Everyone except for me was in on the story. Afterwards my mother told me that it said something along the lines of Caitlin having a long and prosperous love life.

So after having that "wonderful" meal I went on with my weeks going to work when I get a notification on my upward app a few weeks later saying someone liked me. And who could it be but Caitlin. I remember audibly going "oh no, no, no, no" thinking that this is my mom's friend and it would just be weird and she had some crazy eyes in her profile photo.

We took a chance though and ended up talking for hours nonstop each day. I immediately knew she was the one for me. We went on our first date three days later on Wednesday August 16th. We made it official that night and have been growing more and more together every single day.

She is absolutely amazing and so kind and caring I can't ever imagine another minute without her in my life.

It all started with a fortune.

I have been part of Jacob’s parent’s Bible study for several years now. In August of 2023 God finally decided it was time for us to meet. His little sister got baptized and we all went to lunch after church- that’s when the fortune cookie told me my love life would be long and prosperous.

HOW? I didn’t even have a love life. But that was the beginning of God poking at me to pay attention.

Later that same day I jumped on my dating app and what would you know- Jacob popped up. WEIRD- my friends son- definitely NOT. 🤣

He popped up again and again even though I kept swiping no but God knew better than me. Finally I decided to go for it and swiped yes- I was sure he would say no anyway.

Soon we went on our first date and spent hours upon hours talking so late into the night.

Two dates later and I knew he was the one for me. We know how to make each other laugh, hold each other in the hard moments, and support each other in battles. Can’t imagine another day without him.
