Preston and Caitlin met in a parking lot at 1:00 am in late January of 2021. Caitlin was working at Touchmark over night and Preston was hanging out with Nicole Meuser. Nicole decided to bring Caitlin licorice as an inside joke, and Preston insisted on buying and tagging along. As Caitlin and Nicole talked, Preston sat in the car and attempted to chime in.

After they left, Caitlin waited for him to reach out, since she thought he was sooooo cute. She waited 3 days, and decided she would message him. (She's worn the pants in the relationship since day one) They started talking, and dating officially by February 15th.

They celebrated their 21st birthdays together. They had their first anniversary, where Preston gave her a family heirloom promise ring. And Caitlin made him a playlist on Spotify and got it engraved on a music board decoration. I'd say that's pretty even...

They continue to date, lantern festivals, day trips to McCall, trips to Seattle, another birthday and anniversary.

After 2 years, they started seriously talking about marriage. Where they both decided they were ready to take that next step. Caitlin started "subtly" hinting and insinuating the types of ring she wanted.

Preston spent the upcoming months lying, deceiving and tricking Caitlin. He even included all her loved ones in lying to her. Everyone had her convinced she was being proposed to in California in December of 2023. Britany did an outstanding job at shutting down any suspicion and convincing her it wasn't happening in McCall in October like Caitlin wanted. She was disappointed, and hid it well... and by well, I mean not at all.

October rolls around, and Caitlin is telling Britany to convince Preston to do it in McCall because all the loved ones will be there and its her favorite place. He doesn't budge, obviously.

Day of, Caitlin gets a notification that Jordan has flown into Boise. Because he's dumb and didn't turn off his snap chat location. The family gives Caitlin a garbage story about how he flew out to watch a game with their dad. Caitlin again tells Britany to convince Preston to propose since Jordan's in town

She is so convinced it won't happen, because if she gets her hopes up, she'd expect it all weekend. Britany also shut down everything that gave any expectation.

Britany was also so nervous she was gagging in a Walmart while there shopping for the weekend, loudly. Anyway...

They go to McCall, and Christina makes them stop to take pictures to ensure the rest of them have time to set up. All the girls decided they would head for the Cabin to take photos together upon arrival.

When Caitlin, Chris and Preston get there, Caitlin see's Lauren is wearing a Dr. Pepper shirt and leggings. Not exactly what they agreed on for photos. They walk down to the beach and to the left she sees Jordan with a camera and the proposal set up on the beach. Everything she denied and overlooked becomes so obvious.

Preston leads her to the blanket with a beautiful candle set up. He gives her the sweetest speech that neither of them can remember because he was so nervous and she was in shock. She says yes, of course, gets a stunning ring, that she didn't dictate at all, and continued to celebrate with their friends.
