Just a 5 minute cab ride from the resort. 5th Avenue (or Quinta Avenida in Spanish) is the backbone of downtown Playa del Carmen. 5th Avenue is a 5-mile long pedestrian-only walkway lots of shopping, amazing restaurants and nightlife.

cenotes, mayan ruins, snorkelling, scuba diving, adventure parks, zip lining, white water rafting ...

the list goes on.

Take a day trip to Cozumel via ferry (not far from 5th Ave), rent a scooter for the day touring the island. Powdery beach after powdery beach, as well as a string of beach restaurants, where it's easy to grab a fresh plate of fish, a lounge chair, and an uninterrupted view out to sea.
