Jack:

I first met Caitlyn at the national championship watch party at the beginning of the spring semester of our freshman year. She was running around, acting like she owned the place, even though she had just transferred from Samford. I quickly found out she had just gotten a puppy and I offered to dog-sit if she ever needed a break. From there, we became great friends, never acknowledging the spark between us until a year later. I would sometimes tell friends, “If we ever dated, I don’t think we’ll ever break up.” After a few semesters of being friends, I couldn’t wait any longer and asked her on a date. Since we had been friends for a while, dating came easy. After a trip to Rosemary Beach where Caitlyn shared that she used to stage pretend proposals with her cousin in their favorite courtyard as five-year-olds, I knew where I would get down on one knee.




Caitlyn:

I remember meeting Jack at the national championship game too! I saved his number in my phone that night as Dog Sitter Albert. My entire first semester at Auburn I would call him about once a week in desperate need of a dog sitter, or so he thought! My crush only grew for him, and the summer after freshman year, I did in fact count down the days for his off nights at camp, when he would be able to call me! I remember my friends asking about him and why he had not asked me on a date yet, and I always said, “Well hopefully he will soon because I'm not gonna stop liking him!!”. Finallyyyy, after those few semesters of being friends, Jack asked me on date sophomore year, and we have been together ever since!
