Caitlyn and Michael met while attending the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While they both enrolled at Charlotte in the Fall of 2019 and even have memories of being in the same locations at the same time during their first year, Caitlyn and Michael would not meet until their second year at Charlotte. Providentially, Caitlyn and Michael lived in the same building during their second year, with Michael living almost directly above Caitlyn. Their paths finally crossed one night when a mutual friend invited Caitlyn to Michael's apartment and the two have been inseparable since then.

Caitlyn and Michael have been through many milestones together, from watching each other graduate college, to Michael starting law school, to Caitlyn's first "big girl job", and to adopting their dog Maris. In April 2024, the couple experienced another milestone when Michael popped the question at the couple's favorite park in Raleigh.

They look forward to August 2025 when they will celebrate their love story with everyone who has impacted their lives thus far.
